Ever since taking ownership of my '88 BJ74, the auto transmission fluid has read above the 2 "hot" notches in the dipstick every time I check the levels, hot or cold.
Can this cause damage, should I try to drain some trans. fluid? How?

I did here (please confirm on this) that there is a seal from the transfare case to tranny, that can leak transfare case oil into the tranny, so your dipstick reading from the tranny will be high as it has transfare case oil in it.
Also there is a tranny drain plug in the tranny oil pan for you to bleed out a little fluid.
