Hi, Very nice cruiser. I'm not sure I've seen one any nicer in Costa Rica when we have traveled there. Mike

Thank you all. Michael Hanson, Honger DSB345 Its so nice to read all your comments, I'll post every single detail that I will work on this Car.

Yesterday I bought a rubber carpet to do my DIY rear floor mat but I didn't have enough time to work on this, maybe today I will. Also bought some Audio boxes for the rear side.

I'm planning to install my radio inside the hand glove box (I don't want to have a new radio in the dash panel and loose the vintage look inside).

More pictures coming soon.

I worked on the rear floor mat and here are some pics. Process has not been completed because I have to put something in the rear end but I will figure it out later on.

Somehow I missed this thread when you started it. Congrats on getting the red BJ40. My buddy will be bummed as it was his favorite when we were searching. If he didn't just have a baby I'm pretty sure he would have bought it.

Thank you.

I was funny to read that you come here to CR and also that you looked the rig that I owned right now.

Was a hard choice since I looked many other cars and now one catch my attention. Just this red one, I will go step by step to have a nice rig.
Tell your friend that he can read the post or you can provide the updates hahaha.

Today I went to the shop and the car is on the SOA process, all the suspension has been removed.

The mechanic told me that tomorrow they will be pulling out the gear box to replace the clutch and put a new kit.

Some pics.

Yes things must be done correctly otherwise not.

I just bought the New clutch and I'm anxious to go and give it to the mechanic to put it in place.
Maybe next week I can have my Rig back with new look.

Well my friends a while a go that I do not post anyhing but the SOA process is not one day project.

All the process is completed. But I still dont have my Rig. Is in paint process to cover the welding work in the chasis and leaves that had some rust.

The bars and transmition angles are in the right position. As we move the leaves over the axle, old struts supports were remove and new ones were build. We installed Rancho RS5000 that my mechanic sell me. This struts were not in perfect paint condition so new paint is required. New decals are pre ordered and today will be on paint process.

Wheels were presentend and there is a good wheel clearance to ride 35sm however I do not want to change or modify engine or tranny. So I will be riding 33s for a while.

Here some pics however the peocess is not fully completed. More Pics coming soon.

To continue with the story I already have my car and I'm pretty happy with all the work done.

First thing I did, was go to change old tires to my new rims and Tires. With OEM rims and tinny tires looks ridiculous haha.

My Brother in law owned a Jeep wrangler and he stuck in the mud and I had to pulled out from there.

I need to place my led bar and also Led Halogens under my windshield.

Lights in the mountain are needed and with just headlights is not enough.

Yesterday Radio was installed speakers and Subwoofer.

What's coming:

Oil change.
Valves Adjustment.
Led lights.
Led lights in the cluster and Gauges.

I ordered from ebay Kick doors springs since mine does not have it.
I set of LED Halogens
I set of Amber cover for LED lights

More pics coming soon.

Also I'm thinking on this set since I want to have front disc Brakes conversion.

My car does not have Brake Booster and reading I guess this will work good. Alternator has been change when the 24-12v conversion was made how ever I don't want to buy many parts if this set works well.

I need more information if someone is riding with this set that Jtoutfitters offers.

Tandem Dual Circuit Brake Master Cylinder Firewall Adapter for Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 FJ45 - JTOutfitters

Master Cylinder Adapter for Land Cruisers prior to 7/70. Your Land Cruiser originally came with a 3 bolt flange with a single circuit master. Often these masters are hard to find and often not adequate. With the addition of things like disc brakes, many want a dual (or tandem) circuit brake master cylinder. This adapter will allow you to do this without the need for a power booster. You will still have manual brakes but you can bolt up 71 up Toyota Land Cruisers and Pickup Master Cylinders, shown here with a 94 land Cruiser Master Cylinder. This is a great solutions. Comes with hardware shown here.

Your factory pushrod is adjustable and able to be used.

Your Factory brake line fittings are 9mm (obsolete) most modern masters are 10mm, so you will have to do some replumbing.
