Our rigs look like twins in that picture! Let me know if you decide to install airbags on the rear springs. I'm thinking about doing it in preparation for camping trips this summer.
Honestly, I'm rethinking that plan just because I don't want to fab anything else. I might get some heavier springs for the rear to support the roof rack and roof top tent. We'll see what happens, right now i'm focusing on the immediate issue, the stupid fuel lines. I wasn't planning on that expense, so the fix might be slow. We'll see , I change my mind ten times a day .

Hey, that roof rack'll look pretty sweet on your rig! Post pics on Saturday when you get it on!
It shows up tomorrow. I'm excited, will be fun trying to mount it on the roof by myself. Will definitely post up pictures.

That was my thoughts too. Shouldn't be too hard being the big tough marine that you are!

thanks for the flattery, but this Marine is missing a few parts and the ones he still has don't work so well. Like I said it will be interesting, how heavy can it be? I'm more worried about mounting the tent on there.

Its 80lbs. I was lifting an 85 lb security door today. It can be done with one person, but two would be better. I'd get the rack on first and then shimmy the tent on top after the rack is mounted. :)

I will see if i can fab something up for the airbags, I will let you know how it turns out.

yeah for sure keep me posted. The other issue I was having is I couldn't figure out which airbags would fit the land cruiser. They had one for lowered cruisers but definitely nothing for SOA. I was thinking tundra airbags, but they don't sit on the perches, instead they are forward of them. Let me know what you come up with. In the meanwhile I'm just gonna save up some cash and lick my wounds from these recent purchases .

M, I have always liked the Air-Lift systems for my welding trucks, etc... I've had good luck with them. I don't know if they make one for Yotas or not but seems easy enough to retrofit a set.

The air lift is still an option on the table and the most likely path I'll pursue (I just don't want to replace the spring and make it an uncomfortable ride) . I contacted Preston BTW, he said he doesn't have any lines. I'm gonna spend today studying and mounting that roofrack when it gets here, then this weekend I'll focus on the fuel lines and sagging rear springs.

Thanks for the pictures. The ones I saw that fit toyotas don't sit on the perches. Which ones did you get?

I was sure that Preston would have those... it was worth a shot. I haven't put a set of lift bags on a Yota before.. Dodge and Ford systems both are configured like the pics above. Had both of them.

ok while I'm taking a break from studying and waiting on UPS, I called a local store about this kit.

The guy had never done one so wasn't very helpful, though he tried. In the installation manual it says there should be 8.5 to 10 in space between the leaf spring and frame. There's 10.5 in on my rig. Would this be a deal breaker, or should I go ahead and order it once I have some cash? Thanks.

SO this arrived about half an hour ago

The neighbor was outside and saw me working on it. His wife chatted me up and he walked in his house without offering to help me put it on the roof. I got it done anyway.

I like how it turned out.

Don't mind the spots underneath, they are old. Now I'm waiting for the tent to show up.

I want to thank Callahan Offroad for the group buy and keeping me informed every step of the way. Will be a repeat customer for sure ( i just need money :hillbilly:)

Pretty sweet rack Mike. What ya gonna put up top... HEE HEE!!;)

I'm definitely installing a 240G machine gun for the apocalypse. I'll also stock up on fuel lines and store them in my gorilla box on the roof rack.

Could anyone with stock suspension in the rear measure the distance between the top leaf spring and the lower part of the frame. Thanks

That is one sweet roof rack. I need to go back a few posts and see where you got it. Thinking of making one myself but it might just be easier to buy one. Looking good there brother, keep up the good work.

Thanks man, this rig has been years of dreams slowly coming through. I bought my roof rack from Ryan at Callahan offroad, I bet he cuts you a sweet deal if you decide to go that route.
