I misunderstood what the spool did, somehow i thought that would lock the tcase out puts together, thats what a spool would do in an axle diff. I simply over looked the way the tcase locks front and rear output shafts, my fault..
I locked the outputs together manually so id have actual 4wd , it sucks having front and rear lockers but sometimes only the front or rear axle would turn, and always the opposite that needed to turn.

The spool came from trailgear themselves, idk if thats chinese or not, feels like a good part. The hubs came from ebay and felt like pot metal styrofoam, crumbled like it too when i removed them.

i also DROVE from atlanta georgia to golden/denver colorado to slee to pick up this skid plate. what a drive..
wow, that's one hell of a will call pickup! Wrong season unless you brought the skis but hope you made it at least an hour or two further west on that trip to make it worth it! You just got to the good stuff. Always cool to stop by Slee to see it in person, they have come a long ways since operating out of Christo's garage.

My girlfriend and i made a long road trip out of it, spent some time in brek, went to pikes peak, garden of the gods. Totally worth buying a skip plate and refusing to spend $281 for shipping. Best decision ever! Snow everywhere but it never snowed on us. We hit it at exactly the right time. The guys at slee gave a tour of the entire facility, awesome place, awesome dudes, awesome trip!!

Im just gonna leave this here..

SLICK.
40s on 2" of lift.
Does the Slee belly plate replace the cross member? It looks to be.

Yes it replaces the stock crossmember.

I had to install a 2.5” spring spacer upfront and do a bit more trimming and hammering just to get it driving around town normally.

i have plans for a proper lift but i have a few things lined up first.

Looks good so low... but unless you go Clifford the red 80 style & raise the inner fenders up there is no room for any decent amount of up travel.

ADDED later... I have looked at raising the inner fenders up like the Clifford red 80 & it seems the fender can be cut & lifted 1.25" without hitting the hood or loosing the airbox cleaner & with shorter 24R/34R batteries I have a 1" spacer under them to make them fit that can be remove. With a 1" to 1.25" body lift one can lift the inner front fenders 2.5" without any major huge modification to the engine compartment.

Im definitely gonna cut some more, but im going to lift it first. Theres no point to start cutting right now, id have to do a full clifford, then to lift it anyway. I guess what im saying is, im off trails for a while, its project time once again. ;)

You’re ganna love the maxxis. Best tire I’ve ever run. They’re surprisingly quiet and grip HARD.

Im fundamentally against body lifts. Im in the process of choosing lift parts right now. Once all that is here and installed, ill commence necessary trimming and moving body parts. No doubt ill lose the low stance, but ill ultimately end up with more overall suspension travel and ground clearance, sacrifices…
