Awesome trail report! Thank you very much for taking the time to do that. Very good information.

Is there a quicker way than downloading the photos to photobucket, copying the direct link then pasting the direct link on here then posting them? I really like to get some pics up to help tell the story I wrote. Thanks.

When it rains out there the washouts get flooded pretty quickly. We beat the water down the hill & got to the start of the new 'river'!!!

Panoramic view going up to the mine. Down where the truck is is where we had enough. Up the hill to the right is actually the trail going up from the truck. Road looks like a V where I'm standing in the pic but it actually goes from the truck in a straight line to the far right of pic. Hard to explain but you get the idea.

Nice write up and photos? How did you do on fuel? Did you take any extra? I've nearly got myself in trouble a couple times in Texas with the 100s undersized tank and my reliance on gas stations being close by.

I took an extra 5gal but never needed it. Told my buddy once we hit a 1/4 tank we had to head back to camp. Worked out perfectly as we pulled into gas station @ Presidio & fuel light was turning on. Most of the time in the park you're doing less than 10mph in low. I'd say we used about 20gal of fuel just on trails.

You have hours upon hours of offroad driving, hiking & mountain biking!

My biggest fear regarding such an outing is that I got nothing to do the whole day. What do I do there? No internet, no cell phone, I'd go insane.
That's the best part. I enjoyed places much more before cell service spread into those areas.

Great pictures!

Haha, that's the whole point. I'd trade Internet, cell phones, concrete jungle and the false reality of city life for some isolation.

Yes that's why we explore nature to get away from everything!

Awesome pictures!!! When I am in texas, I will be heading to big bend. Thanks for the trail report. Did you run into other people while out wheeling?

While on the unmaintained roads we only saw guys on enduro motorcycles. One guy tried to shy us away from going down the east loop. He looked at my rig and said 'well, you have a winch. I'd imagine y'all can winch thru it". Pffffffff. Weak sauce. We hammered that trail with ZERO issues, much less of needing to winch thru it. Even if we needed the winch, there was no anchor points. Lady at the front desk said, after I filled out their vehicle description page, said ' you're in a Lexus?' Then she came out and saw it and said 'y'all are good to go'. Never underestimate a LX450!!!!
