Great price on the A/C stuff there. Should mine crap out I know where to get parts!

Talked to Reevesci this morning and looks like I might be picking up my cruiser the same weekend you guys are meeting up. Which route are you going for the trip?

Yeah, coolstream is the way to go! Just need a sticker from him so I can advertise for him!

I would prob head out 50 to moab if J is gonna make it down. If not, then maybe out 80 to his area then to Moab, or vice versa...

Unfortunately I have to report the whole trip is in limbo though due to finances/priorities, but still trying to make it happen....

Bummer... Well keep us informed and maybe we can meet up. Flying into SLC on Friday the 28th to pick the rig up and then probably do half the trip home that day and the rest on Saturday. We will be hitting 80 all the way more than likely.

Either way once we get setup with BeBe and I get her running strong we will have to meet-up in Kyburz or maybe in Pleasanton. Supposed to be some good fire road out there and I am looking for some new places to take the bike. I am normally there the last weekend of November as the family traditionally goes to Apple Hill for Xmas tree hunting after Thanksgiving (weekend varies depending on schedules).

I am hoping it all works out. Not sure yet. This project is now scheduled for 38 days.... I hope I get some spare time in there to throw my 62 thirds and locker in as well. I would like to go down to Moab with the 4.11s and rear locker. But, if not Finny, we can play a little on a few trails around the house and Flaming Gorge area too.

Nice work on the cruiser :) spent this arvo reading through this whole thread, I did a similar mod of cutting down the rear end of the chassis to my 60 when I had it, took it back to in line with the body so it would still have some protection, welded in a large section of box Tito replace (can't remember the size) it matched the size of the chassis rails, had a 2in body lift in it and I took the Hayman Reece tow bar and flipped it upside down and mounted it on the chassis between it and the body. That improved the departure angle a huge amount. When I lifted the truck I put 2 in raised leafs in it and my 35's fit and didn't rub, after that is when I made 2in raised shackles and 2in body blocks. She was a big truck and drove well, have an everlasting love for 60's now!! Your truck is a very nice looking truck, don't get to see a tidy 60 like that these days, that popping out of 4wd is where the 4wd shifter runs along a bracket on the side of the gear box/transfer case, stick your head under there with a torch and you will see the bracket is worn, happened to me as well and would sh!+ me up the wall popping out when you are half way up a rock climb and all you can see is blue sky out the front, with your spacers on the front end I'm worried that the studs on the front are taking to much load, does the center hole in the rim sit on the hub when you put the sheen in place? If it is relying on the studs and not the hub to carry the weight then you are running the chance of breaking the studs. Awesome build mate (yes I'm from Australia) I've just got myself an 80 to get creative with so when I can I will start a thread about playing with it, I have a 1uzfe v8 sitting in the shed I was going to put in a 60 if you want it ;)

Love the Rig bro, thanks for taking all the pics and sharing. Keep up the great work, cheers!

Thanks fellas! It is a great pick-me-up to hear from you guys! I have some vaca coming up and am going to wrench a bunch on Betsy, finally getting to all these projects I have parts for...

I would love the 1UZFE!!! I hope your shed is in NorCal!! ;)

Ha ha ha north cal hmm that's a fair hike from here, would need a bloody big snorkel and a massive long range tank to make it ;)

Ill let Finney tell you himself, but Betsy has seen better days. :(

Hey guys!!! Thanks for asking!!! Been a busy year with first kiddo in kindergarten and a new one just born on 6/10/13!!!
I had Betsy running like a top, looking good, finished most of the incomplete projects: front and rear bumpers, sliders, rattle-trapped floor doors and all panels, new carpet, had a new headliner installed, bestop front seats, new steering wheel, rebuilt her AC to 134, rebuilt knuckles, all motivated and partially funded by my brother, who I unfortunately sold her to, to free up some cash because I just bought a house in April and needed the funds... So, I finished the projects for him, told him I wanted to be able to buy her back or at least have first refusal if he ever wanted to sell, and down the road she went, to Santa Clara.

All was well, until my brother discovered hollister was only a hop and a skip away. One trip went well, he posted some pics and vids and I made the mistake of giving him a hard time about his 4x4 driving, because the next call I got from him was from a tow truck that had just righted her from upside down and was taking him home!!! She did a slow 1.5 turns and stopped up against a tree. Evidently it was at the end of the day, coming down hill, one wheel up..... Whatever... :(

:(

My Dad mentioned to me that he saw a tan 60 when he was on his way to work in Salinas a few weeks ago, I wonder if this was the same day.

What are your/his plans for it?

Machinist - I think she is right around the corner from you. He lives in Santa Clara, off Lawrence near kaiser, and works about 5 miles away (not sure which zip code though)... He is still talking with insurance and will let me know what he plans to do.

I am very interested in people's thoughts on her status/repair needs/ scrap/part her or not...???

Thanks J!!! I'm a bit out of the way from eugene, but let me know if/when you are ever coming west!!
Here she is: Mary Catherine, 9lbs 1oz, 20 inches. 4 weeks old tomorrow!!

Good thing Mary Catherine has 2 older brothers and a sister to keep her in check later on... No problem on Oregon we will meet up somewhere. Hope to relocate and start the fabshop up again by years end or early next year. I've been kicking the idea around for a few years and we think Oregon is where we want to go. Thought about the upper northeast, but decided it was too close to her family... HA!

So, I get my fabshop and she will get her greenhouses for her flowers, shrubs, etc... business.

Congrats once again.

J

Congrats on the new addition Finny!
At first Betsy didn't look so bad from the back with no broken glass, but the front, yikes! Is the frame bent?

WOW! What a change of events. Congrats on the new precious one.

-Daniel Kent

Thank you all!

Yeah, she is pretty bent up, but I'm thinking just a fender and hood definitely, probably a core support and front grill, lower faring maybe. And call it good! Oh, and a windshield. But, it seems all the pillars are good, front bumper is bomb proof, rear got beat up but still there, no doors touched, roof rack is bomb proof too....
All this is without actually seeing her yet though....

J - we will definitely be getting together bro! Briskets and beers, ribs and roasts, trucks and trailers, good times ahead...

Bomb proof huh! ;)

Yes indeed... Need to brainstorm on several things. Maybe get KR, OrygunCruiser, snowboardonsnow and a few others in on that party too!

You got my number still? If not, I'll email you.
