Best tire size for stock power train lifted trucks?

I am looking for opinions. My 20+ year old Goodyears are pretty shaky and I think the Kevlar is breaking down. Trying to figure out what size to go with. My truck is sprung over, and I am currently running 35 x 12.5. I am 51, and don’t do a lot of hard core wheeling.
Have 15” rims currently, but am pondering a set of 17x8.

Thoughts?

Side note, favorite brands would also be appreciated.

1970, rebuilt 1F, rebuilt drive drivetrain, tight steering, with 3 speed column shift, 15” Pro Comp wheels and 33.10.50 BFG MT. With a 2.5” lift my 40 has no issues at all running this tire and wheel setup. 65 mph is no problem and they have been relatively quiet so far……at least quieter than all of the other noise a 40 makes. My next set of tires will likely be the Kenda Klever (for the 9.5 width) and City Racer 16” wheels with hub caps because I love that look.

With a soa, you're stuck with 35s atleast, unless you want to look like you skipped leg.

Yup, it does depend on how high the SOA is, but most SOA rigs look silly on anything smaller than 35s...

Concur with SOA anything less than 35 look too small. It will keep the RPM’s down too. Not bad to run if you have 4.10 axle ratio.
