BaT has left a lot of 40owners feeling burnt lately.I'd start by putting an old-school For Sale sign in the window and driving it around and parking it at your office and front yard. When people see the car in person, especially driving down the road, thats when they are most likely to be triggered into wanting it. These can also make for the easiest types of sales because the buyer is right there in person, probably local, cash for title, easy-peasy.
As far as the best single place to sell one, it kind of depends. Are you looking to sell it for the absolute maximum amount possible, or just trying to get rid of it as quickly and easily as possible? Somewhere in-between I'd imagine. Do you want to spend the time to create an ad and take a bunch of questions from random people? Send pics?
After that, I think it depends on the specific Cruiser. If its really special, you could be leaving a lot of money on the table if you dont put it on Bring a Trailer. You never know what someone, somewhere is willing to pay for your Cruiser. The ole saying "a car is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it" works both ways. Its actually "worth" what the highest bidder is willing to pay for it, and if you sell it for less than that, you left money on the table.
FB Marketplace seems to be the new Craigslist. Although I did find a great Tundra on Craigslist recently aross the country and bought it sight-unseen. Seller was a young guy but seemed to be clueless when it came to the car market, so you never know.
In general, the "best" place is "all" the places because you just increase your exposure and odds of reaching that guy that really wants it.
Ive been doing this for a long time and am now a broker, if you need some help, feel free to reach out.
