Best NON OEM - Toyota parts?

If there is a parts house that sells WIX NAME brand, I dont know it.
other than NAPA selling them. where I get all mine.

I would imagine the part numbers would be very similar. Like adding the 5 in front of the NAPA number. I dunno.

Napa's part number for the filter is 1348.
1068 will bolt on. it just has a larger canister.

Now im gonna go jam my dick into the small opening of the oil filter and see what kind of blood filtration these wix hold.

In my opinion, I think that Toyota filters are very well engineered although the fact that the bypass valve is made so cheaply, I would say that tips the scales in favour of Wix and Purolator.

You can have the fancyiest nicest filtering media know to man, but if you bypass valve weakens and begins to bypass unfiltered oil because of oil temperatures seen in a turbocharged engine , diesel, turbo diesel, or any engine under severe use, that fancy media does not perform to it utmost intended capacity.

Furthermore how well media filters is only one of the ways you may gauge a filters quality. An oil filter is a DEPTH filter, ie the depth of pleats, which will fill up quicker if the oil you run is questionable.

That being said even the best bypass valve is going to leak somewhat.

FYI
The first chevy small blocks in the 50s did not even have an oil filter , nor was there any spot on the engine casting to screw one on. That did not seem to keep people from running the s*** out of them and becoming the benchmark for V8 performance.

At the end of it all , change your oil at the specified interval along with your filter, and inbetween drive however you want like your grandma or Mario Andretti.

You can get birfs at a decent price and they come with a lifetime warranty,
Man got any part numbers on these things, we couldn't seem to find one at Oreilly's last time I checked. Maybe they call it something different.

this is a forum about toyota parts, not about your personal issues... please keep on topic....

oh, right my bad. i was confused. thanks. :D

Right. Sorry to invoke my green star but I've cleaned up this thread. This group is usually very good when it comes to staying on topic and in general behaving ourselves. This makes it an easy forum for the mods. We, myself included, were way off topic into Camrys, Corollas, and LC and we really didn't need to be there. This forum is about mini-trucks/4Runners and the subject is aftermarket parts. Si?

Back to the regularly scheduled program.

P.S. If anybody wishes to discuss this action please PM me and keep it off-line. Thanks.

i was wonderin if you were gonna mop up this mess in here, there, green beret.

At my shop today one i was on the topic of the bypass hoses and heater hoses on the 22RE. my buddy who works at NAPA said every one of his hoses is NAPA's

I have always had a hard time gettin one of those hang bellies to look up the right parts.
he has the the part numbers stored for all of them.

the heater valve inlet to pipe was 10789

he said he'd get that list to me tomorrow. this should be some halfway decent info.

Yeah, give me a few to find the reciept. Prolly wont have time to post back till tonight though.
Its in the CV axle section. Its a reman, comes with the axle shaft and all.

Wix Filters run 3.69 for me, Toyota is 4.10, Oreillys 2.29, Fram 3.50, and the list goes on.

K, heres how you get the guy to find birfs:
3 (enter) F7. F7, 84 (enter), 49(enter), 7(enter), select 22R, F6, select CV JOINTS DRIVE AXLE PARTS
Line Code MSV or MPV
Part number is
Long Side 60-5054 59.99 (100.00 Core charge)
Short side 60-5029 59.99 (40.00 Core Charge)
Both come with a lifetime warranty and can mostly be to the store next day.

Anything else?

Yes. Birfields are not "handed." Left and right are the same part. You sure those numbers are not for axle shafts? And why the core charge?

Just give them your busted birfield. I heard they come with the birfeld and shaft assembly together.

Yes, you give them your old birf, they hand you an Axle Shaft and New birf. Its Oreillys, and you could probably cross to a NAPA.
Core charge is dumb, but its not my business, if not, well, mud members would get employee pricing.
