Best after market water pump brands 1987 fj60 2f ?

Clearly a new pulley is needed, but a steel pulley doesn't fall apart for no good reason. Be sure you find a root cause for this failure and post it up.

I bet the crack started at a bolt hole from being both not tightened in sequence and over torqued.

Root Cause (my guess):

Seized water pump.
Moving (tight) belt connected to pully sheared the mounting face clear off the pully. Crikey!

Can't imagine anything else that could twist the face off a steel pully. Wow.

I had a crank pulley on my 440 start to do the same. I agree that resistance is another good idea.

I've seen cracking in the hub (but never total destruction) due to the OEM pulley not fitting on chicomm WP hub that is a couple thousandths too big.
