Sorry to hear about the non completion, but glad to hear everyone is ok.

Here is my .02 starting from 4 the first mile or so is the the toughest and thus is a good place to start.
I have ran it both ways an I 100% prefer 4 to 88.
I find it much more enjoyable going up the tough obstacles rather than riding the (not that great 80 series) brakes down them.
This trail would benefit from running light (weight) that said.........Dan you and your machine would have no problems on this trail , BUT one lapse in driver attention, could mean a nice little souvenir to take home.

Sorry I missed you guys, there was this little beach thing.

Its amazing to me how badly the trail had been chewed up since we went earlier in the summer!
That "gatekeeper" (First obstacle) as WAAAAY worse than it was...More rutted and the boulders were displaced!
I had a bad feeling when it took so long to get the group through that section, and I commend the group for trying to proceed after that point!
Here is a pic of that first obstacle when we did it last...
The line through was MUCH EASIER!

BTW, my ROTW is up on the 60 forum!:D:o

Nice pics indeed! My hats off to you guys running that trail with stock rigs!

Thanks! We had lots of fun. No major damage to Jason's FJ. Decent armor on those things.

I think the 55 will have to get 35s now, and maybe even an auto...gonna have to start surfing 0% cards again.

Glad to hear his rig is ok. I know how you feel on the 55, it's an addiction just ask Keith...

Bummer you guys didn't make the run, but it sounds like you made the right choice. Anyone up for another shot before the end of the year pending weather?

Dylan

LETS GOOOOO!
Pick a day sometime in the next couple of weeks (For me, its gotta be a weekend) cuz Im gonna start hackin the quarters soon, so Im not gonna want to be bashin around with the 1/4's open...Know what I mean!?
BTW, where'd you get the duraliner from? Did you do any patching on your rig on the sheetmetal? If so, did you use bondo, reson or what?
I love how clean your rig is big D...Your write up and pics were amazing for the ROTW!

How was SnT for you?
The wife and I are gonna plan on that for next year!

Just thought I would post pictures of my/Darcie damage...:flipoff2:

Not too bad considering the trail. The stock t-case skid plate also took a hit.

Nothing like incentive to get that front bumper eh?! :D

Oooo...if the 80-series t-case "skid plate" is as worthless as the OEM hundy t-case "skid plate" you might be in trouble if it took a good hit ;).

Makes you wonder how hard they tried to protect that bumper doesn't it?

The ARB is sitting in the garage.

The cross member took most of the impact and yes it is just as worthless.

While it wasn't intentional, it also is no great loss.:grinpimp:

Footnote, I went back up to that area today with the family, and had dinner at the Cutthroat in Markleeville. Really nice place, good food.

If you head up that way again, go up to Grover's Hot Springs. Then park and start hiking westward up the canyon. There is some really neat country and a waterfall up there. Worth doing.
