How did it feel to wake up this morning and still not be in the top 25? :flipoff2:

I seem to recall Clemson railing UNC last week like a 10 cent whore and if they had the balls to schedule us at their home this year we would have done it there instead. Its great how the UNC commissioner protected his school's streak with convenient scheduling when he knew they would have a down year.

Just keep winning so when we come to Winston-Salem in March its not some meaningless cleanup win. :flipoff2:

Ha, ha, good stuff. I really don't care too much about rankings these days. When we got to #1 last year it was more of a distraction than anything. If our kids can keep getting better with the goal of peaking in March, I don't care if we ever crack the top 25.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda... You had the game in Chapel Hell won last year only to let it slip away in double OT in an excruciatingly antagonizing fashion that seems to be Clemson's specialty...

Looking forward to ending the regular season with you guys in W-S. Should be a good one, especially since we swept you guys last year and you haven't won at Wake in well over a decade!! :flipoff2:
 
Yeah wasn't a very good showing out there, very different from the first game except for the final results though. Good coaching and good gaurds are the way to beat the trap which is why UNC lost so bad and Duke beat it twice.
 
It doesn't help that your point guard is lame and your shooters can't hit the ocean.
Defense is good but you gotta have SOME offense. Booker isn't going to to all the work. All everybody else did was fake a shot and pass it around. Or throw it at the backboard and head back downcourt.
 
Is anyone watching the Kentucky game? Could be the upset of the year if the Cocks can close in the next couple of minutes. That Devan Downey is unreal. He is just about beating Kentucky on his own.

Wow this thread really struggled most of this year. Guess that happens when the only team represented on this board thats going to the NCAA tourney is Clemson. If UNC and USC can finish strong the last couple of games they might get to play each other in the NIT though. :clap:
 
Don't cout on it. USC only has Vandy left, and I don't see them beating them the way they have been playing the last 6 games.

I can't see a sub .500 USC team even getting an Invitational game.

Awesome. I'm so excited for UNC. NIT is a great tournament. I bet you wish you were playing in it. From what I can tell they really like Clemson playing in the NIT. There is so much history of Clemson playing in that great tournament.

Now here is the reason for posting the stats. Because when UNC sucks like they do this year we can fall back on how great of a basketball history we have. We know that while some years may be off that we usually will have a NCAA championship belt under our belt every ten years or so.

With Clemson you ain't got dick to fall back on and when you lose the first game of the NCAA Tournament (which I hope you don't) it will be an accomplishment that you had a great year and made the NCAA Tournament.
 
Now Marshall how is it that in the football thread you are usually one of the first people to chime in with quotes like "quit living in the past" or "we are talking about this year" but in the basketball thread its look what we did with Michael Jordan in '83 and Tyler Flops-a-lot in '09. I'm talking about this year right now, where UNC isn't even a lock for the NIT at this point and Clemson is the best round ball team represented in the thread. You may recall that 20 point beat down we put on you earlier this year. I don't know if we will win a tourney game this year, I hope we will Booker deserves it for his role in elevating the program over the past 4 years. I hope we come in a little low maybe an 8 or 9 seed because the higher seeds haven't worked the last two years.

That's because your football history is not really that impressive. You haven't done squat in 20-30 years. Squat. Your last ACC championship was almost 20 years ago. And we are not talking about the SEC. Clemson football had a moment in the light and they screwed the pooch. They dicked away all the good coaches. And hey as far as basketball you already dicked away one good coach. I'm betting you will do the same on this one as well.
