Yeee Haaa

LOL......give the west coaster some slack. He's new to our "family squabbles".
I rather enjoy an outsiders view of SEC vs ACC smack.
Keep it coming Matador......we need fresh meat for this grist mill.
We've about ground each other into hamburger. It's 24x7x365 around here.
Basketball is the tip of the iceberg. :grinpimp:
LOL...check out the football and baseball threads.
All in good fun between friends.

My pick to win it all? Kansas. Rock Chalk ....go Jayhawks!
My favorite? Winthrop......Go Eagles!

The good old days

I'm picking UT in about 1/2 the brackets I'm filling out, I think its a toss up game for sure. UT is known for its inconsistent play especially in the tourney they should have been bounced first round last yr and you know it.

Even though the RPI is not 100% computer calculated it would take a heck of a lot of human error to equal 5 spots in the rankings, theres no doubt the ACC is a better league then the SEC just like pretty much every other one of the 54 yrs the ACC has been in existence. Even the down years when USC was still in the ACC (just for you Gundy :flipoff2: )

Just for YOU Clemson55....Clemson would give an arm to have USC's ACC record.
They left that sorry arse conference after kicking butts in spite of being
hosed by the refs. Spent the season ranked #1 and got jobbed in the ACC finals
and missed the big dance. Back then ONLY tourney champs got bids.
And I might add USC has won the thing too. They do have some glory days.
Frank McQuire had enough. We shall see about the ACC this year when they leave the coozy confines of ACC officialdome.
USC found out that being an independent SUCKS. All sports suffered.
S.E.C. is the best thing to happen to USC since they left the ACC.
It's been a long road back, what with the competition level of the SEC,
but they are slowly finding traction. SOS and Tanner have it headed right.
Now if we could just get rid of Odumb. :grinpimp: Cocks ain't been the same
since they ran the Legend McQuire off. Serves 'em right.
The next coach has all the pieces in place to make USC an annual
NCAA team. Mark my words. USC will return to basketball glory.
It's just a question of time. $, rabid fans, awesome 17k seat arena
and playing in THE best sports conference in America. The stage is set.

Oh I know you have a richer bball tradition then we do I just had to get you back to the thread. Clemson is definitely not a bball school.

My pick to win it all is Georgetown I think they have to much size and play to physical for most teams to hang with them. They also play in the second best conference, have played in close games, have good guards and good bigmen, the biggest question is their unproven coach.

times they are a'changin'

OP is about to change THAT. He's already raised expectations
AND talent level.

Holy crap, I can never get enough of this!!! :D

The $64K question is, will you be alive to see it???? :grinpimp:

That's not a bad pick and wouldn't surprise anyone. Nobody's sleeping on the Hoyas.

They had a few tough stretches but after a Sweet 16 last year, some high quality wins this year and the development of some of the younger guys to support Hibbert and Green, they will be a tough out.

The way to beat Georgetown is with an up-tempo game capitalizing on their TO's with a relentless fast break style. Georgetown will be tough to beat if they are allowed to control the pace and make it a half court game.

The answer to the 64k question is No.

Its gonna be a good tourney, I think Gtown is gonna roll not sure anyone is gonna be able to push them until the sweet 16 at the earliest. BC cant do it they have horrible matchups, Texas Tech plays a slow game which just works for Gtown and Belmont in the first round will probably be a 40 point game.

you youngsters

ROFLMAO......I am a bit...ahhhh...aged.....so THAT may well
be a valid question.
Oh and what the heck do you Wake Forest guys know about basketball.
Face it you are a football school. ( Man, I LOVED that sign at the Duke game)

Maryland, all the tv guys are saying they are the most overrater 4 seed in the tourney. Thats a bold prediction considering they have no true big man and every tourney winner and almost all final four teams have to have a big man.

I vote UNC, Ohio St, UCLA, Maryland in the final four.

But I'm really rooting for WInthrop.

Go Eagles.

Can't blame you for rooting for the team from Rock Thrill but Capt. Jim and the Harangody clan might have something to say about their advancement in the big dance!!!!! :grinpimp:

That's one of the more intriguing first round battles for sure!!!

Confused.

EDIT: I take it you're saying UMD is better than people are giving them credit for...

How about Bob Knight knocks them off in the 2nd round (:grinpimp:) after disposing of the overrated Dudley and his BC Eagles?????

Anyone want tickets to the first round in W-S, let me know! There are some good games in this section and I have seats!!!

You guys are crazy!!!! This is why I couldn't get sucked in months ago...you've been going this whole time since I last posted. Don't you guys work? I guess it is Madness afterall.

Ok, so who is going to be the 12-5 upset this year? I think any of them could upset. I want Arkansas to beat USC, because I hate the University of Spoiled Children, but they won't. I'll probably pick OD over Butler and LB over UT, but only because they are a Big West team, and my alma mater is a Big West team. I think they have a 30% chance of actually winning.

I think long beach will win, I dont think ODU will though. I'm thinking hard on the 4-13 between UVA and Albany. Albany returned all 5 starters to a team that was up 12 on Uconn last yr as the 16 seed. Plus I think UVA might be overrated as a 4 seed as well.

That's not a bad pick. I was debating the same thing, but I was having trouble bringing myself to pick a 13 seed. But I forgot about Albany and UConn last season....interesting. They have the experience against a solid team.

Capt. Jim's nephew has been getting some love on ESPN the last couple of days. Recent blurb on-line:

Famous Last Words
If Harangody is giving the Irish the kind of performance he's generally been putting up in the final third of the season, Notre Dame can get a win or two. When he's a threat, the perimeter lives of Carter and Falls are that much easier.
