It'll buff right out.;)

Well, I was looking at going solo, as the wife was experiencing conflits with the time off. Now, she is OFICIALLY going on her first off road, camping excursion with us!:bounce: :bounce2: :bounce: :bounce2:

SOOOOO, what that means is, that I will NOT be bringin the fly gear and insted will be hangin around the camp with her, and making sure things are nice and comfy for the eve.
I dont think she'd be too happy with me taking off on the river communing with the fish and leaving her there with a bunch of people she doesnt know too well.
She's only done one trip, back up in the "highlands", so this will be a bit more challenging for her!
Ive been waiting for the opportunity to get her out since Ive had the rig!
Im very excited about this trip for that reason!
Wanna make sure she has a good time!

Are there any other wives going?

Missed this post earlier. My :princess: will be going so there will be at least one or two people she knows at least a little.

SAHWEEET!
This is gonna be a really fun lil trip! Im glad that my :princess: and Rusty's :princess: and MAYBE Ken's :princess: will be able to talk trash about their geeky crusierhead husbands together. They all share a common bond over that, if nothing else
CAMP FIRES...Can we have em there? Do we need a permit or anything?
I can bring some wood! Actually, it will be scrap 2x4's and such, but...it still BURNS!:grinpimp:

Don't know what the burn code is up there. Assuming you have a green light for burning we'll need to set-up burn/no-burn areas of camp for us 'non-smokers' ;) .

It looks like my dad will be riding with me if he comes. I put in for the time off work so hopefully I can make it

Just quit your job...that is what dad is for;p
Dont tell him I said that!:D

Are you allergic to the smoke?
If so, its no biggie, its just kinda nice to have a camp fire to BS around!

I'm interested in going, if it's okay with everyone. Anyone have anything in particular that I'm going to need? Gas, provisions, etc?

And I'm not going to end up upside down with my stock-ness, am I? Because for right now, this is the only vehicle I can "afford."

You should be fine with your stock 80. However I would recommend getting your front & rear diff and t-case (and lockers too if applicable) breather hoses raised just in case the Carson River is more than axle deep. FYI: This is a cheap and easy mod...

We will gas up in Markleeville which is approximately 10-miles from the trail head. Bring whatever food you need, etc.

Hey guys, does anyone know if there is any repeater coverage in the Markleeville area?
Freq's ? If not what freq do you guys run on?

Thanks,

ken

I did it last year in my basically stock 62...You have the advantage with the lockers Im thinking! Not much in the way of "off camber" stuff that will flip you and your rig as I recall! There are some tricky spots, but for the most part its an enjoyable trail...I got hung up going back up one of the hills, but that was me picking a bad line!:o
Bring basic tools, and a spare, that type of stuff!
Food, shelter (if its not your rig) H20, preferred beverage in the evening when off the trail! Basic camp stuff...I wouldnt leave home without toilet paper either, but thats just me!:D Be prepared to pack in and pack out trash etc.

This is gonna be a fun trip!
Look forward to meeting you!

My guess is that most communication, on the trail anyway, will be CB since not everyone will have a SW radio in their rig. We typically use channel 3 on CB.

I like the Dixie cup and string idea...:D
My antenna didnt fair so well on blotch this year...
Gotta pick up a new one!
