Phil,

Are you drivable?

Thanks guys!

Elbert,
It's ok to pull it in and out of the shop but that's about it right now. I need some hardware for my front spring mount on the rear springs. It currently has the "mock-up" bolts ran through the bushings.

And some driveshafts still need to be made up. Right now the square driveshaft that was in the front is now in the back just so we could make sure everything is working.

Another little update:
All of my gauages are wired up and working. And the engine bay is starting to look a neater. Hopefully I can get some stuff done this week that will produce some pictures. :)

Very nice, I like your new wheel base, I've been working on mine and I keep getting new ideas from looking at builds, of what I want and I have to reel myself in and stick to the program, otherwise I wont ever be done.

It's always good to have a clear plan for what you want to do before you start. I wish I would have done a little more research when I did the first wave of modifications to my truck. I would have set my suspension up like this to begin with.

Phil,

Ok, just checking. Did not know if you were goigng to the Harlan, KY deal this coming weekend. If you need a ride or whater ever... I plan on driving up that way on Friday will be doing the trailer thing.

I do plan to stop in Galatin or Hendersonville, ( a little out of the way) for lunch to meet a friend I use to work with. Tentative plans to meet for lunch in the Galatin area, then proceed "north" to Harlan.

You're welcom to ride along if you want. Driving up on Friday...leaving Sunday at some point.

That truck is going to be "Cool" have you gotten all your underhood stuff squared away?

I finally got a rear bumper, and I'm trying to do a few odd and end things prior to harlan. I'm on leave this week so between the rain and being lazy I may actually get a few things done.

Yeah..I know I wish I knew more before I jumped off into my project V-8 swap too, but I guess we all do, or we get to try that out on the next project.

Elbert,

The goal was to have it complete for the Harlan ride but it didn't work out. I appreciate the offer to let me join you but I need to stick around here and try to get some more work done on the Crusier. I do want to ride in yours sometime soon though. That Vortec is awesome.

I think we all (those stalking this thread) need to give Phil a nice little motivational shove to get him to the end. I know it's at that point that he just wants it done but there's a few things holding him up and it still seems daunting at this point. Where's the cheer section at??? :bounce::clap:

Great build and write up!
Love the details brother!

Congrats on the start up.
Cant wait to get to that point with mine!

Come on Phil! When you going to give us the it's complete update?

Thanks for the encouragement, guys.

I've got some pics on my camera but I haven't had time to upload them. I've been too busy working on this thing.

The front suspension is essentially complete (my steering stabilizer is the only thing that needs repositioned). Flipped the front springs and put the shackle through the frame. My overall wheel-base is now at ~104". Not bad for a leaf-sprung Cruiser.

I also got my 30 spline axles in and added some 1.5" wheel spacers up front. Next up is adding the poly performance rear axles and 2" wheel spacers for the back.

Slow progress, but forward progress!
