BRH31896 is your PN for the axle to eliminator plate, dual female end hose, like what is pictured above.
That is the unit for axle to eliminator variant, BRH36979 is the longer hose for frame to eliminator tab.

1974 Fj40 putting on the backing plate eliminator kit from Cruiser Out fitters.
I maybe missing something but the eliminator backing plate metal is to thick for the rubber brake hose line to engage the U clip. The groove for the U clip does not stick out of the metal. As far as I can tell the picture below shows no U clip and the groove sticking above the metal. Unless I'm missing somthing?

I'm assuming this is how it is suppose to work? (U clip is upside down) The metal is too think for the U clip to fit or the metal female fitting it too short.
Options:
1. Grind down the metal
2. Cut the middle lip flush with the female fitting so it can fit deeper into the metal
3. Find a new hose
4. Don't worry about fixing the rubber fitting to the metal bracket and let the steel brake hose and the rubber hose sit inside the metal bracket without being secured.

The fitting is too short. Trying to sit the middle groove on one side of the bracket to show the U clip groover will not be usable
I’m in the same boat right now. I actually have the backing plate eliminator installed. But boy it’s too close to my rotor for comfort. So. I’m going to cut out the center section of the backing plates I have to shim my rotor out just a bit more for clearance. Now mouth g that new braided stainless line , again I either have to shave down the mounting tab on the axle (which I prefer NOT to do) or shave down the new brake line so I can get a U clip like your holding to properly secure my brake line. Interested in your fix. I may follow suit.
And oh btw. It’s been a nightmare trying to find the correct brake calipers Mines a 1971 drum brake axle I did a disc conversion back in 1996. 1987 Land Cruiser Vented rotors mounted to the hub 6 punch thru lug studs and two set screws to center it. Then S12+8 with vented rotor spacing (bought new ones in 2000 at advanced auto 19-826 and 19-827 ) but when I went back last month to swap out old and get new replacements. Same part number , ended up getting different molding so my vented rotors would not fit. So pissed. I even painted them nice inky to find out they didn’t fit. Returned them today and they reordered me a new set. Same part number to see if I got a fluke batch. Funny thing too I preordered from Napa another set so I’m not killing time and there’s was wrong also. So where did you get your rotors and calipers??
Hey guys. What exact brake caliper is this? Where can I get a set? And what year range is this product for? I’ve been trying to find replacement calipers that HAVE WIDE mouths for the vented rotors to fit. These new 19-826 and 19-827 from advanced auto have been modified by the manufacturer to fit only solid rotors. Even though I’m 2000 I bought an exact set for vented rotors. Thought it’d be simple to get replacements. It is not.We've had great luck with the backing plate eliminator with the line tab. We stock hard lines and hoses to fit them as well.

I have fj60 knuckles and rotors and I'm going to try to use 1995ish 4 runner calipers. I had to get 1/4 inch spacer for the rims to not rub on the caliper. Will see if they work before I grind the calipers. My rotors don't rub but I did have to hammer back the top of the eliminator bracket where the brake lines attach because the bend was not enough and the rotors would catch on that part of the eliminator bracket.

Painted and bolted up the backing plate cutout. I was thinking that the eliminator plate was thinner than the backing plate. It’s not. So fun project but didn’t do much spec wise. I’m still in same boat. Need to shave down the braided brake line housing to fit in the axle tab.

You can trim the factory shield to reuse it and get a rubber brake line that goes straight into the caliper. Part numbers are posted here on mud for the long and short hose option.
No need for the little hard line still going into the caliper.

Just did this last night.
I will dremel as suggested and see how that works.
If that doesn't work I may have to get a rubber brake line that goes straight to the caliper and zip tie it to the LROR bracket
I marked it and used a drill stepper bit to go one step bigger. The Dremel wasn't really working as good.
Then I did a camo cut on the knuckle side about about a 1/2 inch wide. Basically leaving an opening to slide the hard line and soft line out without undoing the hard and soft line.
I also had to bend the backing plate brake line holder tab to make it in the same plane as the hard line fitting. Roughly parallel to the ground. originally it was closer to 45 degrees.
This works because the C clip prevents the soft line fitting from falling through the hole. Without the C clip it wouldn’t work. The reason for the hole is the LROR bracket is to thick and the U clip groove will not be visible/usable.
Don't know how to rotate this picture. Still need to button everything up.
