Hey gang. After a way too long break, I finally have my 80 back...

In late October, I got a feeling like I was driving over a badly washboarded road driving through town. Then came the #6 misfile code. So I parked my truck, did some cursory research about the possibilities of a HG, Top end rebuild, bottom end rebuild, and the cost and viability of rebuilding my engine with 290K on the clock, and came to the conclusion I needed to find a replacement engine.

Chris Delancy ( @Delancy) had a new short block for sale, but that would not really save me any $, but he ALSO had the motor from his LX that flopped. That engine only had 134K on the clock and had a top end refreshment with all the trimmings by Robbie at 108K.

So I picked up the engine two weeks ago from Joe in Van Alstyne and had it installed this week at a shop near to my home.

Drove it home today! After like 6 months, it was good to be back in the beast!

Dude! You made us a really cool bar out of wenge. I wondered why I hadn't seen you around town in forever. Back when you made us the bar I only had the SC'd Tacoma. Now we have two 80's. Been thinking you might need to make us an outdoor table for the revamped back yard. You could have put the LS in it...

Wow, I can't believe you hopped on the 80 train - good work! Also glad the bar has worked out so well! Our shop has grown dramatically, you should come and see it!

You've done work for What's on Tap according to my wife. I don't have a Facebook account. Did you move to a new location?

You gonna make a meeting anytime soon?

Yeah, we designed, built and installed the WOT's second location in Keller. That was a cool project. Our shop is just north of Lantana. Argyle address, but closer to Bartonville / Flower Mound.

I'm trying to make tonight. I built a big dining table for a youth shelter home and their grand opening is tonight at 6pm... I hope I'm just stopping by then running to the meeting.

It was good to meet you Thursday nite. Glad you back on the road. Im glad I didnt't bring the 60 cause I have my rear pinion seal that's spraying and leaking..thats Mondays project. If I remember correctly your first name is Josh..

I liked the welding you did to 3rd member and rear bumper..I'm still learning with my welder.

Yeah, names Josh. It was great to talk! Funny, however, don't think I got your name. Will look forward to seeing the 60 next time!
