So I’m heading to Adelaide next month for ten days to visit family, I’m renting a car while there and will have a ton of time to search junk yards for parts. My particular goal is to obtain parts to finish out my quad light conversion. Side lights, light buckets and bezels are my main goal, with buckets being the priority and possibly the screws etc for mounting.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for yards to visit and or other parts to search out that are hard to find here in the states? I’m not worried about baggage as I’m not planning to take much and will probably have a suitcase with a ton of room in it for the trip home and besides the extra baggage fee might be worth it if i find what I need.

Just Wrecking Toyotas on South Terrace in Wingfield. I worked with them for many years. They used to let me leave a 40' container there and I'd slowly fill it up for Marv to ship to LA when we filled it. They'd always call me when they got some good rigs. Great guys, honest and easy to work with.

Sometimes I'd just hang out there on Saturdays for the pleasant company.

Thank you, I will definitely check them out.

Get some quad light covers when you're there, they're only available in Australia and are like $40 US if I remember right. Also don't forget the wiring harness/bulb socket for the quad side marker lights. I believe they're different from the standard side light wiring.

If you have a RHD I could think of tons of parts that would be nice to find. But if you're LHD, manual swap parts if you ever want to do a swap. Late model clutch pedals with the spot for the cruise control switch are hard to find, manual brake pedals are nice to have but not necessary. The transfer case shifter assembly and linkage would be nice to have too, though the actual transfer case lever is different between LHD and RHD. Also a manual ECU for the 1FZ-FE but I don't know much about that since I have a diesel.

Then if you wanted to save on int'l shipping, here are some Australian brands with suitcase size products:

Land Cruiser 80 Products - https://trailteq.com.au/collections/80-series-land-cruiser - Keyless entry, decals, interior parts

Dash grab bars, cheap and plentiful and people will buy them!

Also the OEM accessory fuse box, rh side under the hood.

Some great ideas!!! I was definitely going to try and score those covers for the quad lights if I found what I needed. Ive seen them on the Australian eBay. It will be my third time down to Adelaide, but the first time since I got back into an 80 a few years ago and I will be there for 9 days before I head over to NZ for a bit of trout fishing so I have the time to do some scavenging around.

any of our local Toyota Dealership Parts Departments should have these in stock, or within 1-2 days.

what a cool trip!!!

Those look like the sealed beam type of quad lights. Are you planning on changing to LED, or keeping them halogen? If you want to stick with a traditional element, you ideally want to get the ones that take H1/H4 bulbs IMO, then they're cheap and easy to change.
I didn’t keep the lights, two were cracked. I haven’t decided on whether or not I will go with Koito’s or maybe switch to an LED from JTX.

I also got the headlight covers that ikarus suggested. Walked into a Toyota dealership, went to the parts counter, gave the guy the parts number and ordered them. They come in tomorrow from Melbourne. I also checked out a Hilux Rogue, a 70 series and a Prado.
