Pics of Slider/Stinger

I have changed my mind since these pics & I am going to be lowering the stinger about 2-3" so I can bring it in closer to the tyre. I currently have it like this so you can get the Krawler out, it is huge for a 35" tyre.
I will be running a support under the stinger from the rolled tube to the rear bar to help with loads.

Here are a couple pics with it outside as I had to get a couple for 4wdA as they wanted to do a mini build feature on it for the Custom mag.

Thought I would share the changed wheel carrier.
It ended up about 1" higher at bottom, 1.5" closer & the hoop is around 3" lower.

Not as big as the Krawler in width.

Justin dropped some goodies off to Dave so he brought them down with him.
Thought I had better add a bit of B.R.U. :D

This 40 is looking awesome! I always liked it more with the hardtop but now, with this rollcage setup, i think it would be great to hit the tracks in. Keep up the good work guys.

love ur truck, its awesome to see another 40 built to play.

u must have got a good body, i got mine and decided that it was easier to take the back off cause of the rust, now im the only one in south coast queensland with a SWB comp cut 40.

scenic rim is an awesome park to visit, once they get the ball rollin, there gonna be as big as cruiser is

Lots of really nice fabwork gentlemen! Looks great! It even looks really good without the top. But... not quite the same either. Do you have plans on getting another top for it and making it so that you can run it either way? Lot of good inspiration!

On another note, are your spring measurements from eye to eye? and how do you measure for height or is that something that the spring shop will know how to figure out? I'm wanting to get some longer ones built for the back of my 'Cruiser because I don't like the shackle angle and would like more droop. Thanks for the info!

Thanks mate. The body on my 40 is ok, it had a full resto before I bought it, but they used a lot of bog to smooth it all out. There is some rust coming back through, and with all the new fab work thats been done I want to get everything resprayed. So will be interesting to see what we find under all this bog. Hopefully its all sweet.

I love the Creek Runs at Scenic Rim, but I think Landcruiser Park is still a more enjoyable place to camp and wheel for the weekend.

Cheers mate. Original plan was to do all the cage work so the hardtop could go back on, but as soon as I seen it off, I knew I'd never bother.

I do miss the hardtop already when I see old pics of it still with it (looks wise), but the rig is better suited to my needs without it, and more fun/enjoyable.

Yeah, spring measurements were eye to eye. I just told the spring make I want about 4" lift and they did it all to suit.

Headed down to Brooksys last week and we got all the roll cage chassis tie ins done. As usaul with Brooks work, they all turned out great. We also tied in the rear tube flares, so they are very solidly mounted now.

The bushes we used were from Poly Performance
Poly Performance JEEP/TRUCK & BUGGY :: Suspension Joints :: Bushings :: Synergy Suspension Bushing Kit - 4X4 Off-Road, JK Synergy Suspension Systems, Fox Racing Shox, Beard, CNC Brakes, Johnny Joints®, Currie Enterprises, Edelbrock, Pit Bull Tires, R

And all the tabs are from Ballastic Fabrications, which Brooksy is the Australian dealer for now. For the A and C pillars, 3mm fish plates were welded to the chassis before welding the tabs on.

Some pics.

Got the padding fitted now. Hope to get the final inspection and blue plate fitted in the coming weeks.

All going well I'll bring it home before the end of Jan to start getting some of it painted.
