plans as they evolve ...

So for the Polish part of the club, the idea is to meet in Poco for 7am, from there likely meet the rest in Mission or Lickman by 8-9am and head out to the front of the Whipsaw trail. We want to make it to camp by about 6pm at Lodestone. I am looking at the maps and will have figured out a trail from there to some other places but I do not plan on coming back to Whipsaw after the first night (unless the trails dead end). I know Robert, Pawel, Marcin, Sopel (who needs to be back on Sunday) and I are interested in exploring further and relocating camp, but is anyone else going to join us? Craig? Drew? Greg?, I know you guys expressed some interest in doing some more exploration.

I would like to join you. However I am trying to get my AC fixed which is proving to be a project and a half. If I get it together I should be be able to come over Thursday night to hook-up Friday morning with you guys in Poco wherever (assuming I can crash at Gary T's place - have not spoke to him yet.). Failing that plan I will be on the 8:00 am ferry, as described above. I would like to do the trail and get to Lodestone by Friday night, but as you have said it would require an early start Friday. I will have a friend "Tim" with me. Will keep you informed.

Well my plans are up in the air a bit right now. My Uncle took off on holidays leaving me to pickup his dog from the vet, after she had sergery last week. Went back to vet lastnight to get her stitches removed and the vet wonts to leave them in. I have to go back Friday to find out if they can be removed and if she can go camping.

My plans if everything works out are to head to Loadstone on Saturday and stay there for the weekend...

Mat are you planning on running the whole trail into loadstone on Saturday or comming in throw Coalmont?

Plans do change, the dentist is out, so I am fee to leave on thursday, if anyone else is able to do that call me 778 840 8879
ps no kid this time

I bought one of these little thermocell units to test out this weekend, but of course with my usual standard of procrastinating, I missed the sale.
I also ordered a 12v zapper from Koolatron, but that's 'gonna be awhile since it's coming via camel ($9 shipping). I found it hard to justify 40 plus dollars in express shipping for a $25 item. I may curse my cheap ass decision later though.
So once that gets here, and if it works half decently, I will be the envy of you all, and perhaps a group buy would be in order?

We are leaving around noon Thursday, for those of you that are coming in through the front, We will wait at Cruiser Lake for the Band Wagon to show up on Friday, if we decide to head off some where else we will leave a note at the cabin.
p.s. Have a safe trip everbody, Aaron

Bad news for me, unless I can get the wagon fixed by friday, we won't be going. I seem to be eating upper shock bushings like crazy.
I went out this afternoon to repair the rear one that must have come apart on the 'cruiser days trip, and discovered that both my front ones have come apart again as well.
I'm not sure whats going on, if my shocks are the wrong length or what.

The meet in Poco is planned to be an early one, 7am at Starbucks on Oxford and Lougheed, we will be heading for fuel, I would like to hit the Lickman road Shell but I'll check that with the rest of the crew. If you are going to make it then give me a call 604.803.3506.

We are planning on going in the front way (Whipsaw FSR) and doing all of the trail that day and be in camp for about 6pm (ish). I hope the dog is alreight and it was nothing too serious. If you can make it then call me on my cell.

Disclaimer - for the exploration trip, I make no promises as to our destination or trail quality, there is likely a large potential of U-turns, some guess work, road/weather conditions of all kinds, and as always a good time, so no whining once we get going about any of those things :D

Unfortunately, I'm out. :bang: Can't afford this one. Spent a few hundred on the brakes, have a clutch issue, leaking diff and a vibration I can't find.

booooooooooo. hey i'm surprised you can't find your clutch and your diff. I thot you were smarter than that. oh ya... that vibration... it's from that crazy stereo set up you have. duuhhh

AC works !!!

I should be at the 7:00 am meeting point in PoCo Friday morning (7 am at Starbucks on Oxford and Loughheed).

Well the AC works !!! blows cold 40F. The evaporator under the dash had a pressure switch leak and the the expansion valve was probably plugged and the cooling fins on the fresh air side of the evaporator was plugged with dirt, fibers. and crap I cleaned out the ducts and relaced the receiver dryer ($34 Lordco, $200 at Toyota).

I think it is good policy to always shut off the fresh infeed on gravel and dusty roads. The inside of the air ducts were really dirty.

change of plans

I won't be meeting you guys at 7:00 am - will be taking the 8:00 am as planned. Too rushed to get to Vancouver tonight - still bolting stuff together a hour ago.

The bushings are fixed, for now anyways, hopefully "forever", thanks Steve.

We plan to leave home 12ish tomorrow, meet up with a friend in Chilliwack and his spanky new huge mondo diesel (Ford I think), with his kids quads n stuff.....see you at Lodestone when we get there.

have fun guys...take lotsa pics. and if youre coming back through princeton...remember to keep it under 60 once you leave town goin up the hill, till you pass the sandman inn. im sure there will be plenty o boys in blue with their fancy laser guns hiding up the hill...

...that is unless you drive a 3B of course

Glenn - and others interested! we are meeting in Maple Ridge at 7:30 am (just easier that way) at the Haney Mall off Dewdney Trunk Rd at the Starbucks. From there we are going to Lickman Rd Shell and meeting a couple more people, should be there for 8:30 - 8:45am, fuel, and head out. Call me on my cell if you are in the area and we'll see where we are and how we can meet up. We are going to take the front entrance to Whipsaw and go all the way to Lodestone, so no dragging your feet (or bumpers) :)

I'll be heading up this evening after work. I will be camped along Whipsaw Creek (front enterance). Depending on the weather I plan on heading up to Wells Saturday. If rain or low clouds I'll go around to Lodestone and meet the group.

Anybody heading up later today or Sat morning wanting to do the trail front to back can meet me by the trailhead 798-6311.

ANOTHER GREAT TRIP!
I'll do a write up as soon as I get a minute. Meanwhile, here's a teaser:
