There's a music thing in Ashvegas that w/e I'm interested in.
I could go home to Grinvile every night but I'd rather crash local.
Any ideas on camping or cheap accomodations?
Or a spare backyard for an old mudhead?:clap:

any links to bands that are playing? I'm always game for camping and if there is a hippy fest the wife/daughter is usually interested.

I have too much invested in camping gear and only getting to use it at bonnaroo a few nights a year is a shame.

is that 30 min or 30 yards...30 min makes it too far for stumbling distance lol

c/o Moogfest.com.
Robert Moog 'invented' electronica. It's in his honor so you can imagine the bands maybe.
It's put on by the Bonnaroo folks. Moog lived in Asheville for a long time.
I've made 'Roo 8 out of 10 times. But this one doesn't include camping. I think they'll use the Orange Peel, Civic Center and the Thomas Wolfe. It's only an hour to drive home but camping would be nice if the weather is tolerable.

Thanks Jay, see what you can line up.

Re: the Devo love and hate posts in the "Fall is in the air" thread.

I thought Devo was pretty cool and fresh in 1983. And they pretty much invented electronica. I haven't heard of them since then but they DO have a new album out and they are likely to be just as pungent a social critic as they were then. If anything our times are a lot more to talk about then those were.

But aside from that there are some powerful acts down for Moogfest. Some of the more widely known ones are huge stars in their genres eg. Disco Biscuits who I really love 'cause I'm a jamhead, Big Boi-one of the best and most accessible of the hiphoppers, and MGMT, Hot Chip, Massive Attack, Girl Talk and Thievery Corp. All of these are major headliners.
And the underbill are major up and comers no doubt. The Bonnaroo people are genius at seeing the future. You can prove it by looking back at some old 'Roo schedules over the years and see so many names at the bottoms of the lists that are now major names all over the music scene.

I'm just saying.

That's cool and all but Devo still sux. I'm not sayin' I don't appreciate what they did back in the day (I was a music major in college, aka: Music Nerd) but it doesn't change the fact that they had one hit...and it was a joke.
