I'll probably be at the ASFIR factory in Israel in in two weeks. I have been there twice before. I now have 100 daily driver so I'm going to try to get the full set of skid plates. My 80 is the wheeling rig. I have read the thread. What would people want to know?

I would ask them if they are considering producing a batch for US customers non diesel 100 series. I know it's not impossible to make their current plates fit. I just would like the convenience of the bolt on option with little modifications. I have the front plate installed currently but want to buy the rest.
I recently installed the front skid plate on my '99 100 with an ARB winch bumper. I had to do some cutting on the front corners to fit with the bumper, but it was easy to cut the aluminum with a hacksaw and then grind the edges smooth. I used a cardboard template on my rig to mark the bumper profile, then transferred it to the skid plate for cutting. It's light weight with the aluminum, but is pretty thick and seems like it should hold up ok for smaller hits. Obviously not as durable as steel, but I was hesitant to keep adding weight with the bumper and 12k winch already on my rig. I agree that the shipping and communication were great. Leonard was backordered on the two rear skids, but he let me know how long it would be, and emailed me right on time to let me know they've shipped.
Very happy with ASFIR skid plate for my 99 LC. I paid $187 which included delivery to Florida. No modification needed, direct bolt on. It came with (1) center bolt with sleeve, no other hardware was provided which was fine since I ended up using some new stainless bolts & locking washers. Really happy with the quality and fit.
Yes. BIOR and Slee have cutouts in theirs for the oil filter. They also have holes for the oil drain plug and transmission drain plug. I run a Fumoto valve and will need to "bore" out the drain plug hole so that I can reach in and flip the valve. Probably get to use the 4.5" hole saw that I haven't had a use for since I did the snorkel 2 years ago
The one issue I see with a "full" underbody skid setup would be ease of accessing the front drive shaft and the transfer case side of the tail shaft for greasing the u-joints and slip yoke. I do that every oil change. Would hate to have to drop the belly and intermediate plates to do that every time.
Good info. I certainly like the price point. I sustained quite a bit of damage underneath sliding down a rutted out, muddy trail. It was like a Land Cruiser bobsled.
Good thing I found this thread. I was just thinking about getting a new plate since the last one rusted out about 3 years ago. No offroading - just Cape Cod beach driving, but I always worry that something might go under car and do some damage. I can wait 6 weeks. Thanks for the update.
I let them use my LC for a scan a few weeks back now, I haven't heard much since then. I assume they are still in the design/testing phase before they manufacturer them.
Based on the timeline we discussed, I'm expecting to see something in the next 2-4 weeks.
Not for me. I need to slide a small pan under the filter to catch ~1/2 quart-ish of oil. I thought about cutting a hole, but the filter and housing seem really susceptible to getting damaged by a branch or something poking through a hole.
I like what you are saying but I’m thinking based on the last couple oil changes its not necessary. A shop rag on the pan or maybe a small tray will catch it and keep things simple.
Interesting...I didn't look in to too many of the details, the pricing sure is low. Curious to know the quality. In the mean time, I'm still happy I pulled the trigger on @benc Dissent front bumper. Now I need to save my pennies to get the skids he offers.
