Hey all!

Some of you may be familiar with the super popular ASAP Flaps for the 100 series. Because of how popular they are, I want to start working on bringing these to the 200 platform. For those of you who aren't familiar, here is the page from our site with more info and a video demonstration:

ASAP Flaps - Owl Expedition

Before I can start, need some help from the community to try and make sure I make these fit all years of both the LX and LC.

My prototype vehicle will be our 2017 LC:

I suspect the front fender, where front flaps would mount, will be the same between all years of LX/LC. If anyone knows differently, please let me know.

The rear is where things usually get complicated.

I need some help verifying the rear mounting bolts are the same between the body refreshes and the LX/LC.

I could use some shots of how that area looks with the stock bumper and the various aftermarket bumpers. That will help me get started on brainstorming mounting techniques.

This is the area I'm looking at on the rear of my 100 (wife has the 200 right now)

Also, I'm hoping to gauge interest. I'm assuming the 200 series crowd would love these, but I've been wrong before. Let me know what you think and if I can count you in as a future customer.

Price is hard to estimate right now. On the 100 series, the stock rear bumper kit cost 240 and the aftermarket bumper kit cost 220. The difference is due to extra brackets required to support the stock rear. I'm hoping that I can match, or possibly reduce that cost slightly with the 200 design.

Thanks all!

I’m more than happy to bring mine by again for a good look at the rear with the Slee bumper.

I’d be a buyer, too.

They look impressive. I'm not sure I'd spend that much money on mud flaps, but I suspect a lot of people would.

Not sure how interested I would be either. But here’s some shots of a 2010 LX. Stock in back and mudflaps removed in front.

Not sure how pervasive this problem is on the 100...but on the 200 if you go with tires bigger than 33s we all had to do some sort of modification to the front mud flap areas (in my case, muflap is removed and the liner is molded back a little further with heat. Others go as far as to bend some of the metal behind the liner back and then mold the liner even further back. If you product can't work with that, it will rule out a decent number of 200 series owners.

Thanks for the photos! Looks the same as our 17 LC.

The 100 has similar issues and the flaps help me clear 35"s as they hold all that plastic back further from the wheel well. I only have stock tires on my 200, so I may have to put my old 34"s on it and see how it clears.

That's been part of the challenge. Because I use super high quality urethane that last forever, the cost is higher. If a DIYer was to try and make basic flaps using similar material, they'd spend $50-100 for enough material for each flap.

It took me about 2 years and tons of wasted money to find a supplier that could make them to my standards.

Definitely interested, especially for the front if we can clear the problem area.

I would interested in a set for a 2018 LC as well. I have 33" tires, stock bumpers, but hope to go with a Dissent Rear bumper in the future. Looks like the ones for the 100 can go stock or Dissent Bumper, maybe the same for the 200?

Cool product and will probably sell decently well but I’m not interested.

Ramathorn, I think there's an opportunity here to actually help solve the clearance problem so many of us have in our 200s. If you somehow took those flaps and added some functionality that pushed/held the inner liner back while replacing that metal bracket that many people hammer, it could be pretty game changing.

Caveat: I'm not an engineer and should only be taken lightly at best!

Hey all,

Working on getting these done, but need some help from the community.

I need shots of the rear dissent and slee bumpers to try and make these work with them. I'm willing to provide a discount to whomever posts the photos I'm looking for.

Here is the photos I need, but with those two bumpers installed.

Happy to see you're working on these.

I wish I had our dissent bumper already installed, still trying to pin down some time to do it.

Rear bracket prototype is done. This should (hopefully) work with both slee and dissent.

PXL_20220430_223849477.jpg

Doesn't look like much because I'm using scrap. Final brackets will be nice clean stainless.

One cost saver will be using the factory flaps to hold on the rear bumper. They will require cutting, but shouldnt be hard. On the 100, I included a large bracket that holds the bumper, but it drives cost up significantly. I'm thinking most would be okay with cutting the stock vs paying $50+ more for a separate bracket.

I'll hopefully get the fronts on tomorrow. Then design the flap itself, but that will be quick.
