Are you a 100/105 owner with slow power windows?

'02 LX470 with 266,000 miles and my windows go up and down pretty slow. Colder temps make them worse. I don't know how to rate them out of 10 because as long as I've owned the vehicle (3 years) they've always been slow. If I had to rate them against the window speed in my wife's 2019 Nissan, I'd give my windows a 3 out of 10.

2001 GCC Spec in Dubai - Two are fine. One motor was just replaced. The other ones are slow 5/10.

my 02 100 seems slowish but overall fine... Probably a 6/10.

My question is: how much of this is due to a tired motor vs dried out window runs? I'd be concerned that this product would simply wear out the motors quicker and not actually address the root problem (old window runs). With new OEM motors being $$$ ($293 ea) and potentially going NLA in the near(ish) future, I think i'd want to preserve them. New runs are $66.

My 60s windows were horrible when I got it.. Replacing the window runs and felts fixed everything. All in, probably a couple hundred in parts from partsouq.

I just timed my '98 LX DS/PS windows and it was ~3.2 seconds going down, fully and about ~3.8 seconds going up fully. This is with engine idling. I also tried the PS side window switch vs the master switch (controlling the PS) and it was the same.

05 LX windows are a 6/10 compared to other cars and in the cold or wet they drop to 3/10.
I’d be interested in getting them to run quicker

@Boss Hog your issue with the front passenger might be the regulator and not the motor, I had a similar issue early this year with the driver side, replaced the (evidently tweaked and worn) regulator with OEM and the change was significant.
Good to know! Thanks.

A good topic to discuss!

Here is my find on older toyota P/W.

I have a 92 Prizm (same as Corolla) and came manual windows, I converted to power with my own wiring. Regulators from a Corolla and switches from a 2nd gen 4runner. Windows travel slow, though it was the fuse, I upgraded to 30A. Not much of a change. Lubed the mechanism and same. Then opened the driver's door switch and cleaned the contact points (Carbon build up from spark and CO2 in air) It seems to speed up a bit but not to the proper speeds. Then started digging into the plastic switches on the top black plate, which sits on the circuit, mounts with 4 Phillips bolts to the wiring/switch base. I had extra toyota P/W switches so I took those metal toggle plates along with the black plastic top and moved all into the existing switch base. I am happy to report the windows are now moving faster! Will post pictures later

I have a 99 LC. Just replaced all glass runs this year. It did help. ALOT. With speed and noise.
My drivers window still starts very slow in cooler weather, but once open a bit, gathers gusto.

I might peek at the a pillar to door wiring next to see if there's any obvious wire issues there affecting voltage.

Interested!

Both rear windows are slower vs. front
PS rear slower (5/10) vs. DS rear (6/10)
Have used dry spray lube and slightly increased speed but still slow

I have 1998 Land Cruiser. My rear passenger window is the worst. I would rate it 5/10 on a good, warm day and when it's cold it barley makes it up

2007 here. Windows are 8/10. Very occasionally one will start up and go back down. Speed is generally good, it can slow down a bit when it gets very cold.

I've long suspected that low voltage manifests a number of problems in these vehicles, and undercharged batteries that vent hydrogen gas as they charge, causing corrosion at connections, can be a primary cause of voltage drop.

I top-up the battery on a charger every few weeks, keep the battery terminals super clean, and have tried to go through as many connections as possible to check for corrosion and clean/protect with Deoxit Gold.

2000, 340k miles. New window runs a couple years ago (helped a little). Driver window 6/10, front passenger 3/10. Back windows 5/10.
