Thats some quality feedback brother, Thank you for your time! Yeti 3000 what a beast!!! If 45-55 on means youll get similar to me in idle mode (6-8w), which means that if you get 8 hours of sunlight (enough for 60Ws) a day, thats 480wHs per day that your panel puts back. Mine used 160wHs from jackery over 8.5 hours (with usage of fridge, so about ~20 watt hours per hour average between compressor on/off), so 480 wHs can run it for 24+ hours in similar conditions (~80 degrees F). If you can get 8 hours a day of sunlight and sustain 60 watts, then you can run your fridge indefinitely with that panel. Then you got 3000 wHs acting as backup for rainy days... which is enough for almost a week without needing any recharge.... Like i said, 3000 is a BEAST.

Really all you need is the smallest power bank capacity that can accept solar panel that has a recharge rate of at least 60Ws input, and 8 hours of sunlight a day to get you 60Ws from panel, in order to power this thing for good. You don't even need to turn on your car! I can almost pull it off with my JAckery 160 that is limited to 48Ws recharge rate, just need a panel that can input 48Ws to try. Basically, you got enough leftover capacity there to power your fridge for an entire week without needing to recharge your Yeti lol. Mind sharing a picture of the 3000wH Beast??
Yes it's definitely a beast, I had an alert set on Craigslist. It was/is more than I needed but they were sold out at retail and I wanted a li ion battery. I ended up getting it new in box with 100 w Boulder briefcase, car charger for $2300-more than I wanted to spend but I'll never have to worry about power. It can also power my espresso machine(pulls 850 watts) , so there's that :)

I plugged my VL60 into my Yeti 3000. The fridge draws less than 60 watts when it is on, usually 45 to 55 it seems. It took 90 minutes to go from ambient temp to 0 degrees, completely empty fridge. With a 100 watt panel I get about 60 watt input full sun so the yeti will pretty much run this thing for a long long time. I'll post back the draw over a 24 hr period too.
Did your 60 come with feet? Thanks

discount code for JP series slide no longer valid?
They are running low on JPs so I wouldn’t be surprised, I will double check today to see if Lu has time for an update.

@tnt40 I will send you a picture of mine soon when I get back to the warehouse.

@gxblade1 I would give it til end of this week and check back. I will send a text today though and fingers crossed. Will keep you posted!

Meanwhile, I am working on images and as soon as the TR gets here I will make a spec sheet. Aside from the usual specs like power consumption, measurements, weight, basket sizes and etc, is there anything you’d like me to find out once I have a TR to mess with?

Today is a good day to take the VL45 apart and get everyone a close look, so if you guys want a close view of the compressor and internals/externals (like feet), you are welcome to stop by the stream later when I go live. I am reinstalling windows to fix sound drivers then I’ll get to work. Thanks again everyone!

I will do both, as in make 30-60 second short clips and take pictures. Just waiting on Software downloads as my sound drivers got messed up somehow, and reinstalling them 20 times didn’t work so I said screw it and reinstalled windows. Almost done then I’ll get started! If there is anything in particular you want me to focus on during the stream/photo shoot, then let me know here! Thanks for asking.

The fridge took about 750 watts over 24hrs on 0 deg both sides. I did not open it and it had cover on. Practically with cold products inside its got to run less often but your also probably opening more. I'll do a 32 deg test now ha ha.

Are you including the power consumption from when it had to bring it from ambient temp to zero, and totalling that in with first 24 hours? I did mine in separate tests to get an initial consumption reading, as well as a sustained consumption reading. My sustained consumption at 32F and ambient temp of ~80 is about 480 watt hours per 24 hour period, and yours is not far from double that. I'm trying to figure out if it is because you are testing it at 0 and not 32, or if it is because you are including initial (first run) power consumption into your total. With the bag vs me having no bag, i would think that your sustained would be better than mine is why i asked. Let me know what the day 2 total is if you plan on having it plugged in for a while, thanks!

thanks for the pic. I may be mistaken, but that might look like what's already under my fridge. I was thinking of feet that you have to
install yourself. Am I correct to assume that you didn't have to install those feet yourself?
They came installed, that's my stock set up(minus the cover)

Real talk, are we just buying chinese knock off junk to save a few hundred dollars today but will be upgrading in a few years to something else? Bc, if so, I'd rather buy once and be done with this. Help me out, fellas. I get that the compressor is the same, but that's just a component, how it's integrated into the unit and the other controls are probably what would fail.

The long-term quality remains to be seen. Country of manufacture doesn't dictate how good something is - guess where ARB and Dometic fridges are made.

There is a lot of stuff out there that "looks the same as" and is the same, and stuff that isn't. So far these look (from photos) to be actual compressor fridges with metal bodies, appropriate controls, and reasonable insulation for an extremely good price.

For me they seem like a nice step up from the Costway I was planning to try as a 'starter' fridge.

your iPhone is made in china.

your Android is likely too.

90% of chinese made goods are garbage. some are not bad.

final thoughts- this is a simple device with a good compressor. if something breaks and they no longer exist or refuse to warranty it, any cruiser owner who does their mechanical work could repair or fix one of these. if not, perhaps they could have it repaired by a competent HVAC or appliance repairman. I did my research and gave one of these a shot. If it fails on me and is not repairable, lesson learned.

I opened the box to my VL60 Dual Zone today. I was totally excited. The unit was really quite stunning to look at considering how plain it looks in photos. But, as I unboxed it, I discovered a pretty good sized dent. The first thing I thought was...can I live with it? But, as I looked more carefully, I found more damage. I found one of the top corner pieces cracked and severely marred. Needless to say, I was totally bummed. I reinspected the box, and found that the box looks pretty wrinkled where the damage to the fridge occurred.

What was more appalling are the bold warning labels outside the box that indicated; "Handle with care. This side up. Do not drop". But, in the end, that bold printing appeared to have pissed off the delivery people enough for him/her/them to turn it upside down and drop it on its corner. WTF! Reminds me of that opening scene from Ace Ventura Pet Detective
