I should be at the Crawl, but I'm headed to Disneyworld for the week. Say a prayer for me. I didn't bring my espresso gear.

Ouch. I always took valium prior to going to Disneyland. And of course the family wanted to go every year. I hate that place and all the fake fun.

Call me in a prescription. I can already tell I'll need it. If things get too bad, I'll look for some appliances to work on.

Alright, my 5 year old, seldom used, shop vac lost power last night and smells like a tire fire. It is still sucking, but not with hooker strength. Do I scrap it and buy a new one or bust it open and try to figure out what is wrong with it?? Any tips on where/what to look at once I open it up??

I've literally used it single digit times since buying it for a specific project right after moving to Jackson. Filter is clean, the bobber moves freely, and I see no obstructions that would be causing a lack of air flow.

The handle on my POS Kitchenaid microwave decided it wanted no part of being attached to the door, so a little superglue & packing tape later and it is stronger than new.

Is a water heater an appliance? Don't know if it qualifies or not but one of mine straight stole all my black Friday money from me today...pretty sure it was the only thing at Lowe's that wasn't on sale

:lol::lol::lol:

A friend asked me about washers and dryers and I didn't know, so I came by here to see what advice there was.

HOLY CRAP you guys have some horrible luck with appliances. I bought the Sutter Creek Pick-N-Pull nine years ago, and have only had two appliance "issues" the whole time, and all of the appliances were used - oven, microwave, dishwasher, water heater and disposal came with the house, fridge, washer, and dryer were craigslist. So far, the kegerator needed a recharge (something about having it on the porch when it's over 100 degrees for a couple days probably had something to do with that), but it's r134 so easy to deal with, and the oven had the dial knob go bad so it wouldn't turn on the element. The water heater is still holding on and I don't know how - water is ridiculously over the top high in iron content. Sticker on the side says 1994 :eek:

I gave the friend JTTMFT's advice: go cheap, start saving for a replacement now.

What's the Cottonland consensus on a good mixer? Ours is sheite.

Bake me a cake woman! She loves to hear that.

Our Kitchenaid stand mixer is older than our kids - the daughter is finishing her Masters at GA Tech now. It still rocks and Cheryl bakes a lot. Go w/ the commercial rated one today and it might be close to what the standard was back when we brought this one home.

We got the smaller KitchenAid and it's been fine for 8+ years. Ours had to be red though.
