thanks for sharing that zakeunc, that is a cool resource, although they didn't have any 2uz harnesses for sale yet, i'm sure they are capable of it. I have offered my help to a couple people and have come up short on time. I am trying to compile my diagrams, pinouts, and such to make wiring a 2uz a simple process for any competent person. I will do my best to get this done soon, sorry woytovich, I haven't forgot, just busy...

I contacted them also... they are reviewing my info, pics etc to see if they want to take on the 2UZ (even though they list it on their website as something they do)

...key ECU, key transponder...

Do you have pictures of these components? I have some stuff that came with my 2UZ but I'm not sure what is what...

Hey woytovich, the key transponder is the ring that goes around the ignition cylinder with a few wires that run to a immobilizer ecu box which is a small box that "translates" the code from the key to the engine ecu. I'll post a pic if I find one...

No I do not believe you can use any ecu, but I'm not sure, I'm not sure if the program is specific for each vehicles ecu or each immobilizer ecu. They may be interchangeable but I'm not positive, but I believe either way if you have all the parts you can have toyota program it, of course you would have to find a guy there that doesn't look at you crazy. I almost attempted this with a local locksmith but he never gave me a straight answer. The Key has to match the Immobilizer ECU (same vehicle) or nothing will work, or you could simply get a later Tundra ecu or something else 2uz that doesn't use a transponder, my 2001 tundra for instance doesn't.

all landcruiser in the US had immobilizers, but overseas could be different, need to look into that. I guess if the pins were not there for the immobilizer that would answer that question, I'll look at my ecu diagrams and see if you have wires in your harness for it. Refresh my memory woytovich, what all do you have, 2uz, 2003 ecu, what else?

on an 03 100 series my diagram shows two wires running to the main ecu, pin 26 and 27 (yellow and white) of the e8 connector to the ecu, this is what yours would I assume be missing on yours. I will try to find the diagram that shows that e8 connector and numbering for you to check.

here ya go, let me know what you find on yours

I'll take a look tonight when I get home. THANKS THANKS THANKS.

Oh, I have a 2004 2UZ from a LX450 and the ECU, I also have an ECU from the 2003 Aussie 100 series with the H151

ok that won't do you much good, that's a mass air flow in case you didn't know, you will need that. Lets hope that this aussie computer will work out for you. Did you get the dash harness?

Not sure if you wanted me to check the harness side or the ECU side.... but in any case both ECUs have pins in the 26 & 27 E8 locations. I will check the harness too

these guys have a running v8 Toyota motor in a Celica - IIRC, they worked with Haltech. I don't remember if there was plug and play, but Haltech is really good at customer service - so if you reach out to them; I'm sure you'll get every answer you ever need... they're making nearly 1000 hp and using a rear mount turbo. good luck
with the standardization of EFI and spark control - it's really a matter of getting a schematic and using whomever you wish to control the motor. I'd never use a stock computer because by the time you get it all to work; you'll find the manufacturer limitations are less than what you wish to do. There are others like Megasquirt, even Holley make stand alone computers which are a matter of taking the standard loom, cutting off the computer end, removing unneeded stuff then wiring in an aftermarket computer. fiddily for certain, but not rocket surgery
