You figure out what's wrong with your carb yet?? I got the itch to get my 40 back on the road... so, if anybody has an Aisin carb from the '76 era they want to let me borrow, that'd be great!

Man... that's really weird that two of us have almost the exact same problem. Maybe someone new will stroll in and offer him a solution that will work for both of us.

the running backwards is not uncommon at all the times ive had them do it was the carb easy fix,then the other time was in the wiring at the alternater,then one other time was a vac leak at the intake doing alot of sucking.i found that with carb cleaner while running spraying around it all.it really dont take much to make them do it

Well my dad took the carb home to NC today, so who knows when it'll get fixed... ugh. i just want it back on the road! really, i want it back OFF the road.

Yeah lots of news. It was not in great shape. Half the jets were clogged. To top it off I dropped a small part in the garage and couldn't find it. Couple other parts I ordered from Rick. They are in but I haven't had the time to go get them.

Should have it done by Friday.

Do you still need that Aisin 83 carb that I have in my garage for the jets? If so, we could meet somewhere for hotdogs.

Was able to fix both rear and front windshield washers on the 62. Costs $5 in parts. Got that firewall gasket back in place with some black RTV and a couple of clamps for pressure.

Is you carb still apart? Because I'm in need of some dimensions of a spring for the vacuum pot that operates the secondaries. let me know and i'll tell you what i need.
