Hello. Been a long time lurker - thank you for all the helpful information!

I recently did the gear swap on the passenger side seat to replace the shredded seat track gear (according to instructions I found here!). Went to plug it all back together and nothing! The motor was working prior - it moved the half of the seat with the good gear, but now i get nothing. Cannot tell if there is even noise coming from the motor itself??

I went as far as removing both of the jack screws from the motor/worm drive part to see if they were binding up the motor, and still nothing. Without the jack screws in there, the whole thing should move freely, right?

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

There are two plugs: one under the middle of the seat for powering all of the motors in the seat and one on the front of the seat that powers the drive for front/rear adjustment. If none of the seat adjustments work, then there is no power to the seat. Check the plug to make sure it is plugged in all the way.

All the other adjustments work - you are saying that there are two plugs going from the chassis to the seat?

Initially my seat would bind and sound like it wasn't working. I used a little persuasion to get it to move and then all was well. The plug is where I would start.

I just recently picked up a set of seats off another mud member, if you need anything to get your seats going pm me. As long as I don't need it for my personal use, and your willing to pay for shipping you can have it.

I just did both of mine, and when I put the passenger side in it did not work, I pulled it out and found out I had the timing off on the to worm gears which drive the seat, re adjusted them and it works great. so check this too

Thank you for the offer Milkn4n!

shocktower - did yours move at all? Mine is like the motor is not working at all - but i think i hear it trying - hard to tell.

Well thanks for the help everyone. I worked on it last night and jiggled the plugs around and it worked! For about 1 second, then the end plug came out and I think the gear is destroyed already as that side does move anymore even with me holding in the end plug. I guess that is all it takes is a couple seconds without the end plug to chew up the gear. :frown:

They are really easy to fix, and gear sets are $20

Yeah, the whole thing started with me replacing the gear with a new set and plug - then the seat didn't move for a still unknown reason. Then when it did move, i think it chewed up the new gear. So have to start all over!
