My local Toyota Parts guy just looked up both Land Cruiser 100 and 07+ Tundra lug nut prices and he told me they are the same part #... He normally hooks me up with a discount but list price for these puppies is $12.29 each x 20 = $245.80!!! Ridiculous... My lugs are looking pretty busted up and my wheel locks are nearly stripped... I'm afraid to pull my wheels off again because the locks are getting so bad...

I ordered these a yesterday off ebay and then found a thread on Mud from someone who ordered similar lugs off ebay that wouldn't work... Here is what I ordered off ebay...

Wheel Lug Nuts 1998-2009 Land Cruiser Mag Style 14x1.5 - eBay (item 220742352410 end time Mar-21-11 16:31:58 PDT)

M14 x 1.5 should be the right size... Do you guys think I will have a problem with these?

I was going to pickup 4 Tundra lugs tomorrow as I have some other parts arriving at the Toyota dealership but at $12.29 each thats almost $50; more than I spent on a complete set... WTF? :bang:

I just bought a full set of 20 from Beno (@American Toyota). They were $9 and some change each. I didn't want to risk the eBay ones, especially since there were already reports of them not fitting the stock wheels correctly.

Man... I almost called Cdan for a quote; at $9 each thats still $180 for lug nuts... Still seems awfully high to me... I do always try to use Toyota parts but a couple hundred for lug nuts just doesn't sit well with me...

I looked at those too... Probably should've ordered the Gorillas... Guess I'll see what shows up next week and if they don't work I'll go the Gorilla route... In the interim this really sucks as I have Cruiser projects I want to work on this weekend and I don't think its a good idea to take my wheels off until I confirm at least 4 good lugs to replace my locks... :meh:

Yep I had sticker shock too, but I broke 3 studs on one wheel, and this is my wife's daily driver, so I decided to order what I know would fit.

I'm curious if those Gorilla brand fit correctly, could be a cheaper alternative for the next guy.

I will make sure I at least update this thread with what ends up working for me... I did several searches and they still left me a bit confused; hence me starting another lug nut thread...

Any reason you're not looking at any wrecking yards?
A lot of yards keep parts in bins so you don't have to pull them. But if you do, need to pull them, just throw some spare tires under the axles.

I am facing the same issue...need 14 lugnuts at some point...no hurry thankfully. Checked into the Gorilla lugnuts at a local place that sells them on the Internet...they look exactly the same as the OEM lugnuts...and are half the cost. I will go that route when it is time...

Bill - I was just down on the OBX last weekend. Regarding the lug nuts they worked out great. I have been running the new ebay ones since the end of March when I moved to 315/75/16 BFG KM2's. Thanks for bumping this thread. I forgot to update it.

Hope your stay was good, great part of the world ('cept in Jan and Feb ;) ) .

If it's not to much trouble can you push me a link to the actual vendor/offering you used? The link above now brings up a slew of offerings.

Much appreciated!

Bill

Bill - OBX is always great... I lived down there 4 summers and still come down whenever possible (2hr drive from me in VA). Jan isn't too bad... This past Jan we had 4 Rockfish over 40lbs in one day. Great run this past year!

As far as the lug nuts go... I recall double checking the measurements of the ones I ordered in comparison to the link Hoser posted above ( Gorilla 73148TXX $4.99 Chrome Lug Nuts Toyota Standard Mag Seat, Long, Large Flange, Flat Top 7/8" Hex Head 14mm x 1.50 Thread ) This link still works and mine were identical to the Gorilla brand in his link and worked out fine. I checked the ebay seller I bought mine from and they still sell lug nuts but none are currently listed for land cruisers. I've seen other Gorilla brand as listed above and they seem to be good quality. The ones I am using now just came in a box with no label. I see alot of other options on ebay. Just make sure you get some 14x1.5 with the washer on the end and you should be fine. There should be lots of options for Tundras now that also fit; possibly some locally.

I was at Costco today and they have the Gorilla 7/8"x14mmx1.5 for $1.15 ea. I don't know if there's a flange difference or what, didn't look that close.

FYI - Just got 4 lug nuts from costco for the price of one from my dealer ($13). They look exactly like the stock ones.

For those who are interested, I was able to get lug nuts from Costco today and I believe they were $2.86 apiece. Up from $1.15 each in 2011, but still better than $12-$13 each from the dealership.
