I have looked into the different vibration reduction options decided that it wasnt worth the money to find out. I did bump up the idle which helps a little. If I could do it again I would have gone with a toyota diesel.

6bt's come balanced....

just saying.

I have balanced a 4bt with a 6bt balancer and flex plate and it got rid of the shakes.... There is no need for a 500$ balancer except to say you spent it.

I just purchased a Lexux LX450 with a Proffits 4BT 3.9 QSB conversion. Having owned another FJ80 I don't even know where to begin? I recall running starts! Not an issue any longer. I recal 10-11 MPG, not any longer. Vibration, increased when stopped under load. Unbelievable power, feels like I should be driving harder but 75MPH is 1800 RPM, keep in mind I'm running 36" tires so I'm actually cruizing at 82MPH. Torque converter locks up at 50MPH and there is still another gear at 60MPH. Proffits did extremely clean work, everything functions as it should. super quiet at highway speed, meaning 65+ especially when cruise control is on. Just did 148 miles to test PMG and I'm happy to report 22.48. This could probably be taken up if I took my foot out but it's quite an experience to say the least. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance. This rig is really set up for long distance as in town there is some vibration at stop lights. Any questions I will do my best to answer. The price of this build including lift, rear bumper w/ tire carrier, part time T-case, manual hubs, new engine and transmission, sliders etc was $33,400. Not certain I would have invested the money but I'm happy I purchased the truck. The truck currently has 211K with 36K on the build. Seams to be holding together, at least for the last 36K.
