Cool. It worked out well for me.

Can't tell you/thank you enough about how good it feels to have spent some time dusting off the welder and getting familiar with it and practicing. Thank you!! I'll be spending some more time practicing soon as I am eager to do a front bumper, finish my rear one, fab etc... It'll never be as nice as yours, but I'll keep trying!

No problem, any time..Just wish I could be there with you. You will get there, just take your time and enjoy the work.

I always have said if it seems like work it probably is, but if you have fun you will always go back for the next project. But, I'm a glutton for punishment.....:hhmm:

New rear bumper fab!

Well "welding out" fell by the wayside and fabrication re-work took over. That "NEVER SATISFIED" welder came out in me again.

I was about to start welding up the rear bumper and decided to TWEAK a few things !

Take a look, I'll get to weld again tomorrow morning so, I'll get these knocked out. Still need to fab a rail from the new front edge to the frame and bolt up to stiffen this area.

Thanks Pete, your skills are way impressive too. I have always said I need to get two or three of us together and just go crazy in the fabshop for a week.

I think some cool and interesting items would roll outta there.

Put me on the recipient list for some of those products!!! :D

I did something similar on the back of my 80, only I burnt on some tabs so I could bolt on a piece of aluminum checkerplate to use it as a step. This way I can access the roof/RTT easier, and if Im stuck in mud I can walk around the vehicle to the rear by using the sliders and rear tire instead of getting in the mud..

Anyways yours looks good.

Rear Bumper Hinges..

Got home a little early today so I swapped out the homemade hinges and the IPOR ones. Huge difference let me tell you. These things have no up/down play and are tight.

Great job on these IPOR...

Got the stop spring pins in as well. Just need to install the Destaco toggle clamps now..

reevesci- you do phenomenal work! Very impressed with your build. I am sure most others are too. Keep it coming!

Antennae

So, no fab updates ... Last night I was looking at the replacement antenna I got from CCOT. I must have been eating retard sandwiches or something not to notice this BUT... The aftermarket fender for Blue Marley doesn't have a antenna hole in it. Never noticed this at all HA!..

So, I just placed my order for WagonGear's CB/FM antenna mount and a few extras from Walcott CB per KR's recommendation.

Already cut the hole for snorkel so WTH... what's another hole for the **** of it, RIGHT.

Need recommendations for the SWR Meter since I can't find the one KR recommends..

Got home to a few goodies waiting for me again..

Headed out to the shop to finish the rear bumper tonight and get the front bumper finalized this weekend as well.

Smoothed all the welds on the roof rack last night.

Getting close to primer and paint now on all the fab projects.

Enjoy.

Smittybilt! Love it. Love mine too! (I shoulda gone with radio din model tho too...

Yes Smitybilt, This was an open box item I got off Ebay.. 48.50... Couldn't pass that up. It was missing some screws and one of the side straps. Other than that it is in perfect condition.

A pretty cheap console if you ask me. I'll prob use the stereo compartment to put my CB in..

The INNO awning is pretty cool. I had one on the other cruiser.. It's only 60" wide on the rack and opens up to about 10' x 13' and is retractable. Sets up very quickly as well.

Right on! Mine was amazon "open box" too! Came nice and in cellophane and taped up, no missing parts! $50 :D

Nice awning!
