Really enjoying your thread reevesci..! I'm busy configuring the rear swing arms for my rear bumper at the moment and think your set-up is really nice - is the reciever below the bottom rung of your ladder for a jerry can carrier? I like the way that you have the flexibility of not needing to have the carrier attached at all times..

Trock, Yes it will hold 3-5 gallon military jerry cans or my 30 qt cooler. I made it just like a trailer hitch/receiver connection so it can be used whenever I wish. I'll keep it in the shop when it's not in use and simply put it on when we go on a trip/run.

Thanks for looking Trock..

It's such an intrepid idea, I'm going to use it if you don't mind..

I look forward to seeing how your Cruiser progresses, going to be so epic!

That bumper stinks. Better just give it to me and you can make a better one....

:D

I really like that bumper. The tube on the side is genius. That would be really handy for some of that stuff I ran into to. Hell I probably wouldn't have the dents I have now. I'll keep that in the memory bank!

Good work!

Thanks Kline, Yeah there were several moments during the build when I almost ****canned this one and started over... The tubes were an inspiration from a bumper I saw on a FZJ80 in Salt Lake City a few weeks back. That rig was SWEEEEEET!

I enjoy a challenge, but as I've stated before, the unsatisfied welder comes out in me from time to time and all **** breaks loose sometimes.

Thanks for the compliments.

Spent the morning welding out and smoothing the front bumper.. So, now all my fabrication projects are complete less paint/powder coat...:crybaby:

I'm gonna have to find another cruiser to fab things for...... Wish the :princess: was willing for me to start playing with our FZJ80..

BUT, the trailer build will be starting soon enough I suppose..:grinpimp:

Enjoy!

Could you please hurry up! This is such a good movie, that I really need to see the end!!

Blue Marley is de-BLINGED, all the fab is off. Now I can get back to the final sanding, primer, and paint.

I think I have all of the body filler work done, but I will go over it after the 320 grit block sanding one more time to be sure.

Well here he sits as of this afternoon.

Got the other side of the rear bumper done and decided to throw a trailer hitch in for :D's.

Back bumper still needs the IPOR hinges swapped out, but I'm pretty much welded out now.

A few more hours of final workover and I'll move on to the front bumper....

Super nice work man! Wow!

Hood bumper bolts

I haven't done much today since I been home, (except for posting incessantly for some reason). BUT, I did receive my hood bumper bolts from Cruiser Corps. Thanks Mike.

The old ones were trash and a PITA to get off due to the rust.

Here ya go. It's not much but, it's progress I suppose ;).

These are a nice/sturdy/quality replacement and under $10. I highly recommend.

Enjoy

Those hood bumpers look close to stock ones. Cruiser Corps is a cool place. I first heard about them because they came to the Jamboree in Gilmer. They had an FJ45 and a FJ60. Cleanest trucks there. And they gave me a free t-shirt! Awesome

Can't wait for painted pictures :bounce:

Kline, I'm hoping to get Blue Marley painted quickly but, I found out today that I might have to go to Texas for 2 weeks of training starting next Tuesday....:crybaby:.

It looks like you have some serious hours in that bumper, lookin' great!

Thanks, for the quick delivery.. Will be needing to get that dash cap from you soon enough..

Believe it or not I probably only have about 8-10 hrs in the bumpers, yes the pair, over the course of this build.

Nice solar panels in that last pic. I bet a guy like you could fab up a sweet rail under the floor of your roof rack to accommodate slide out, on-board power that doubles as a canopy...
