I'm kind of diggin' the mottled look you have now. You could call it "Industrial Camoflage". That time I was kidding!

Haha just blast it with some clearcoat and call it good.

HA yeah it's an idea.. My wife said it has a unique look about it..

I have a bout 1/2 gallon of the factory 8B4 blue metallic and 3/4 gallon of clear left from my first cruiser.. So, I'm prob gonna paint from the roof down below the door handles and then use Monstaliner or Grizzly Grip on down.. I plan on wheeling this 60 a bit more than my previous one.

Wyo, like I said it just looks like I'm flying on this build because I played catch up on pics from 2 months back.. I'm back at work now and I know my updates will start slowing down.

I suppose flying. I wanted to be further along, but that's always the case. Gonna run by and pick up the seats from my buddy this afternnon.

First day of work and only had to put in a few hours. SO! I'm back at the sliders this afternoon and hope to get the rails completed. The frame brackets will be another days project.

What is this magnet toy?

I was cleaning up some and found this toy?? in the cruiser.. I have no idea what or who it is suppose to depict. But, I like the little fella and think it's a naming sign. So, Blue #2 is now BLUE MARLEY.

If anyone knows who this character is let me know.

Oh and this is exactly the way I found him. HA!

Seats

Just got the seats.. A little dusty, but in great shape. No tears or rips. Got all the hardware from my buddy.

I thought they were black, but look to be charcoal or a dark grey. Similar to my old S40 seats. Completely manual and leather.

Color is a bit darker than the Yota grey, but I plan on doing some mods to the vinyl door and cargo panels anyway.

Back to work on slider rails now..

Thanks Finny I'll be waiting to see those pics of Betsy.

There's some black and tan action going on...

Seat Frames

Got to the seat frames this afternoon. Took a little engineering, but I got them where I want them and stout as heck too. These seats are super comfy. If you can weld I recommend these all day long.

I started on the air intake mod to run to the snorkel.. I will finish this tonight.

That's one of those little welding jobs that is not as fun to do, but has to be done.

Reevesci, I guess you're sticking with the stock engine? I thought you might build your own - You know, cast a block, cold forge a crank, hammer out some pistons. No?

Things seem to be moving right along. Have you stiched all your welds yet?

I prefer to weld on thicker material, but it needed to be done.... Stock engine for now since I have a complete spare engine, trans, and t-case for parts if needed.

I have a source for 4BT's and LS6's so maybe one of these days I'll do a engine swap with a NV4500 or H55F

Welds are exactly where I left off. I figure a couple of good nights and I'll be caught up in the metal fusion department.

Headlights

Ordered up the same light housings as I had before. These are probably not the quality as Roundeyes, but for the price I like how they look and throw light down the road. Made out of glass and aluminum not plastic.

I was given a set of these a few months back and was impressed with the quality. I had the PIAA Intense White bulbs in those and will probably go with those again.

Anyone have a good pic of their frame connections from the frame to sliders?

J

Not sure you're still looking for a pic, but here is one of mine. I welded the arms to the diamond then diamond to frame. The shape made it easier to weld to the frame without removing the body, but nothing can help me when it comes to how my welds look

Great build by the way, love the way you did your rack and the mounts. I may be taking a page from your book.
