I had passed a number of ideas about a tire mount that could be bolted to the existing floor mounts and to my LCP Puma mount. Most of the thoughts simply were not stout enough and made the install look half assed.

Phil and I looked at a mount another CSC member had done and it incorporated some of the features we each liked, clean lines, bolt in, allows for easy removal of spare if it is ever needed. Here are a few pictures of the mount as it dries, I am really happy with the build quality and attention to detail.

looks good, more pics when installed please

I like the upgrade and versatility that if you need to take the tire out (say put in stock location), your able to remove the tire carrier, still have the Puma mount to give you more room if needed - you have that option. On the cutting edge !!!!!

Well I put down a paper barrier while the paint cures but here it is, I love it, size weight build quality are all perfect. This is the perfect addition to the LCP Puma mounts and the inside mount solution for those with tires too big to fit under the truck or who have the 4X4 Labs bumpers.

I cannot do a bumper mounted tire carrier and still get my truck In the garage so this is the perfect solution in my case.

I like it. I'd like to see a passenger side model too for those of us with 2 LCP Puma mounts. :)
I would buy one of these!

Can this free stand without the puma mount for those of us that don't have that but want their spare tire out from under their rig?

The short answer is no, the mount provides the needed support for the left side of the carrier.

If you need to mount your spare inside the truck then you probably wheel your truck. If you wheel your truck you need to air down your tires. If you air down your tires, you need to refill them before driving home. If you need to fill the tires before you drive home then you need a compressor. The best bang for your buck compressor is the Puma. If you have a Puma compressor you need to mount it somewhere. If you need to mount it somewhere, what better location than the Puma mount? If you get the Puma mount then you no longer have to figure out what to mount your new tire carrier to. Problem averted.;)

All valid reasoning! I don't wheel my truck as much as I would like. But I don't like my tire underneath my rig. OBA is on the list but it's at about #183 for now...

A package deal would be interesting so I could just add the Puma down the road...

The Cobra is a Factory Five Racing kit I built in my garage. About 410 HP from a Ford Racing crate 5.0. I have about 2000 miles on it in just over 5 years it scares the crap out of smart people, I should be more wary of it but love the way it looks and sounds.

Took me and a buddy just about a year to build, working only on the weekends.

I just noticed the tire print on the back of your 2nd row fold down. Did that happen with the mount in place, does the tire hit the seat? Have you tested someone (like a kid) pushing on the seat and would it touch the tire then?

No. When I put the tire in before the tire mount, I just ratcheted the tire to the floor but jammed up to the seat. I need to get the cleaner out and wipe that off. The new carrier holds the tire about 1.5-2.0 inches away from the seat back.

Her is how I was doing it before the carrier, I had to put the Orange rag there to keep it from hitting the seat. This was a major contributor to me wanting to get a carrier, I wnated something more permanent.
