That is some nice looking spray paint. You sir are a rattle-can artist.

If you need any 60 parts let me know, I should have an almost complete drivetrain to part with in June.

im still in need of a dc drive shaft.. Got one?
if not....
I'll start diggin around for a solid axle, mini truck double cardon shaft.
 
Sorry, I need one too. I might be able to make use of the DC shaft off the front of the D250 for a rear DS, but I need a front shaft now.
 
the search continues.....I found one here locally for $20 bucks...still need my rear.
I know that dodge has a dc that is the same diam. shaft and the double joint can be used as well as the toyota mini trucks too. I'll look for a couple then!!!

I think early March....... its coming along. I still need to get a anti wrap bar built (waiting on johnny joints) i need new brake lines and one shock tower on the drivers side. Oh yea...and a bunch of little things like marker lights and drive shafts. and some other things as they spring up...
come down and check it out.
 
I might bad able to help out on the johnny joint issue. I also would like to say mr. Rattle can artist sir. I don't like your fenders. Because I'm super negative and judgemental. Other than that no real reason at all.

I really dont care if you like my fenders........
I do need the johnny joints though. How many do you have?

Not all the bugs, but most. Have to throw a new gas tank in and rethink the gas venting system, then figure out the malfunctioning low beam. Small potatoes compared to your list!!

Keep it up man, I want to see this 40 rolling too!

i dont envy you sir....I hate electrical issues!
Working on the antiwrap bar now. Should have it buttoned up this week and on to the brakes....
I have only one front brake that is operational at this point.
In fact, I drove it to my shop when I bought it and realized as I was driving away from the farm I found it at, That it had one brake....
Scary drive to say the least.


By the way.... hows NC? Beautiful im sure!

That sounds like a good story :lol: Last summer when I broke one of my front main leafs I drove for 500 miles before I could get a replacement. One of the disadvantages of using your dd as a crawler!!

Tom, I cannot explain how awesome NC is. Weather is gorgeous, people are awesome and the new job looks like its going to be amazing. I really couldn't be happier.
 
Got the anti wrap bar completed yesterday.. I'll post up some pics tonight. Very pleased with the results too. I also got the gas tank in and all lines hooked back up. Im headin back to the shop today and try to finish the exhaust on the VORTEC swap in the 60...
This sucks having two projects going at the same time....It is very befitting though..especially with my A.D.D.............;)
 
havent been here in a while....I have done a great deal of work on the 40 since. Mostly electrical bugs and cleaning up a few loose ends. I finall ALMOST finished the rig. I actually drove it home from the shop today... I forgot how slow the fj40 actually is. Especially after driving a fj60 with a 383 stroker in it for almost 10 years.
I still love it though. Brings me back to my roots of land cruiser ownership.
Here some pics of the rig from today. I still need seats, front driveline, and a bunch of loose ends tied up.

still not finished yet but thanks for the compliment. hitting the underside with paint and undercoat this week. I really cant believe how long I have been pluggin away at this project. I can finally see the end of the tunnel. especially after todays drive.
I really love this frickin rig. Im parkin the 60's for a bit and enjoying the ride.
