JRobs truck got the FrontRunner rack installed Tonight.

Big kudos to Greg and DNP for jumping in and putting it together. I just helped. They had it 90% built by the time I got there.

The drivers door was out of whack so we fiddle fugged with the tower clip above it for about :45

We tried it all and Rob finally moved the door and it fit

Looks awesome. Which tent is going on it?

More info.

It's mostly timing. Turns out there's a specific way things are supposed to go back together.

However, Bill keeps finding fun little things. For example, I don't think that the EFI relay is supposed to be wired directly to the battery.

Those pics of Jrobs truck are making me want to build my 80. How would a Unimog do up there?

It was before my first trip up but Roger told of a guy that showed up (in 2008 I think) with a Mog. He was hopelessly stuck in no time and had to bail out on the first day. Just not enough power and wheel speed to handle the mud. Kinda like a 3FE :0

Hope fab...

The pictures I saw from the first STLCA trip (& Mog encounter) indicated to me that the Mog was not equipped properly. It had fairly narrow tires that were spec'd more for highway performance so the truck had poor floatation capability (i.e., high requirements CBR rating). Aggravating this further, the truck had a full sized expedition camper mounted on it which added more weight to the vehicle.
The outcome might have been significantly different if the truck had been equipped for tundra/soft ground trails rather than the highway/expedition drive up.

Hey Bossman do you know if the PHH has ever been done on Jrobs 80?
