Nope. Trying to get all of the A/C'd shop stuff done first. This week I'm sure.

Yeah Bro!

When do the trucks need to headed north? Probably not much time left.

Two years ago, I had a great time. Did all go to plan, no. It did not matter. Alaska is an amazing place. The crew was exceptional too ... personality warts and all that surfaced on occasion.

I wish I could was going again. I have confidence this trip will be every bit as good for all you or more.

Please keep the posts coming when possible. Just because you are having a fantastic time and I am stuck at work, don't let that stop you from rubbing it in.

Well, from the perspective of one of the personality warts :), I have to agree completely with you Larry. The 2014 trip was awesome and very "adapt and adjust" in nature but had its high points too. The Maclaren River Lodge was a great find and totally unexpected and our time in Talkeetna (the town the TV show Northern Exposure was patterned after) was worth the entire trip to me.

The plan for this year is more along the lines of the 2010 trip, if river levels allow, and will be much more remote. No aircraft landing on the Highway (gravel) and taxiing into the Lodge parking lot, no access to washing machines, and you better bring your own bar supplies with you. But, the river crossings, the incredible views, the opportunity to trek out onto one or more glaciers, and the remoteness all add up to an unforgettable experience.

The trucks will leave for the Great White North at the end of June. Wish you could join us again! Load up that 70 series and come on! You know you want to..

Sir,
Yes I would like to go back. I certainly have no hope for this year. Maybe in the future; I have actually been researching FMTV using high floatation ag tires/wheels with the military bed removed and replaced with a lighter weight deck/gear stowage. [Dreaming for now which could lead somewhere in time]

With regard to personality warts ... we all have an ample number so I was not pointing at you or anyone else. The trip just provided the time and opportunity to observe the presence and condition of the various warts.

No offense taken, Larry. Just recognizing my part in it all and trying to improve.

I don't know what FMTV is but knowing you it is something brilliant that I should have thought of. High flotation ag tires would have been awesome in the muskeg marshes but I'm not sure how well that would work on the river crossings.. Get a truck ready for next time!

Just a quick update: The front main seal is replaced and @bkcruiser wanted to have it running yesterday, but didn't have the right hoses on hand. Maybe today...

BK needs a new parts guy.

No dude...just generic hoses...not the kind you order from the Turk. :) Although he said there wasn't a pesky heater hose in there and I thought there was.
