We were mocking up another Kitchen in the ADGU 100 Series Landcruiser and it's just so beautiful we felt compelled to share some pics! This is becoming a very popular offering for us.

My Platform, has a drawer that has a table. Love it.

We recently (finally!) were able to put together a detailed video instruction for assembling and installing the Air Down Gear Up drawer and sleeper system in a 200 Series Landcruiser. The video is certainly not going to be the most entertaining thing you've ever watched, but provides very in depth, detailed instructions for getting your system set up!

Great video, I think the non 3rd row version has wider wheel wells than what is in the video. My platform was not able to fit without some structural modification to the extruded aluminum.

It's intentional that the system is as wide as possible. The system gently pushes the flexible trim aside. It installs with a nice press fit that gives you every fraction of an inch for drawer volume.

We actually designed our own 3d printed plastic cap for the runner with this very issue in mind! The cap prevents any scratching/gouging of the wheel well trim while it is being flexed out of the way.

True on both counts. Definitely a snug fit, and definitely maximizes available space. I got some scrapes on the interior plastic interior wheel well covers, but the plastic flexed enough to allow it to fit without chopping anything.

Hi Everyone,
We are running our Black Friday sale, now through the end of November we are offering a 50% discount on a slide out table with the purchase of a system. This a $225 savings, and as always shipping or installation is included in the system price! Use code SOT50 at checkout.

We get a lot of questions about how much weight our Slide Out Table can support, so we put this video together to demonstrate just how much it can hold! Cutting straight to the point: We recommend 25 pounds as the max load, which is more than enough for meal prep, staging cameras, etc. In this video we load the table up to 40 pounds just to demonstrate what it can handle!

We're looking for some advice from the esteemed 'Mud community!!

What do you guys think about a 'static' drawer face? We are thinking this would be a customer-selected option. You could select the existing 'winged' drawer face, or for about $150 less per system you can opt for the static drawer face.

Do you think this is a viable/attractive option? As far as we can tell, the ADGU system is the only one with a 'winged' drawer face, so it appears the general approach to accessing the storage area under the wing is to simply open the drawer. The top access wouldn't be affected at all

Static face Pros:
  • $150 less expensive
Static face Cons:
  • Drawer has to be opened to access storage area from front of drawer (top access unaffected)
I've attached a few pictures showing the hinge mechanism for the 'winged' drawer face. It's perhaps more complicated than you might realize at first, with fiber reinforced 3D printed brackets, 270deg hinges and a 'snap shut' feature that we absolutely love, but it all adds up to more $$$. Also a few pics of the static offer

To be clear we are keeping the winged face, just considering adding a less expensive static option. So, what do you think?

I like the price reduction. I find the hinged drawer fronts very useful for quick access to items on the sides - I have a first aid kit immediately accessible on one side, and a roll of shop towels and TP on the other. In addition to that I have an axe and shovel that I can access quickly without opening anything else on the side with my shop towels. With other drawer systems that I am aware of, this access is made possible by opening the top wing, and the top wing opening is wider. The ADGU for the 200 wings are so narrow that this isn't a viable option.

Personally would prefer a fixed face for mounting power outlets etc.

Agree with everyone regarding fixed front face. It's actually kept me looking at other solutions despite really liking your kitchen setup and drawers.

The other thing I noticed and was a bit of concern was in the kitchen youtube video. The drawer for the stove seemed to be free moving, and the presenter even had to keep fiddling with it. Not sure if that's intentional or could be fixed but it can be seen at 2:11 on this video -

We've got a cool option for that sort of thing where we mount a Blue Sea switch panel (4366 has been our go to) to our uprights cleanly tucked behind the folding wing. Not sure I have a picture of that, but I'll post up if I do.

Here's a GX460 with a neatly tucked away fixed power panel. It's just far enough recessed that you can use 12v adapters without anything hitting the tailgate and USB cables don't get bent or tweaked.

I concur, a fixed face for power outlets and switches.
We have that available. Check out the GX460 example above.

We've got solutions for a fixed panel so don't let that winged default stop you! That's a simple change we can add to any system. Check out that GX460 above with a cool tucked away panel. We can easily move that to an exposed face if desired.

Kitchen Stove Tray: YES! Excellent catch and yes, that video was shot with the first prototype system. That system was actually kitchen system #1 for us and had a very poorly optimized detent in. Its retention force was maybe 1lb. The current one is more like 15 lbs. Please check out the video below I put together. The link should start around 6 minutes and show how those stage detents work in our production model. The retention is quite stout.

Here's a current rev kitchen with a fixed power panel in an 80 we did recently.

One important thing to keep in mind with these minor tweaks to our system is that we're very adaptable - or rather the system that we've created is very adaptable. The framework is minimal and stout. We don't use wooden walls like most other drawer makers and that affords us a lighter and stronger system with abundant opportunities to fill space and add frame here or there. Adding a fixed power panel is fast and relatively cheap for us. If you're interested in that, please let us know.

A final note: during the off-season our custom labor rates are much lower. Custom machining during peak camp season might be pricey, but during the winter lull we can accommodate more custom requests.

Let us know if we can answer anything else!

Seems like a pretty good consensus about preserving the wing or going to the power panel! We'll be building up a demo of what the 'static' power panel option would look like on a 200 series LC, stay tuned! We'll post that up once we have it done and see what everyone thinks!

Kitchen Covers now available! We have created a kit that allows you to have a flat, load bearing surface with wing and tie downs when you aren't running a fridge on your dedicated kitchen. We certainly understand that you don't always need a fridge in the vehicle, so we designed this cover to be easy to install allowing you to configure your system exactly how your current use-case demands. This is 100% retrofittable (i'm pretty sure that's a word, right?) and installs/removes in just a few minutes.

You still retain 100% function of the kitchen, and the 'fridge top' effectively just becomes a short drawer/tray. The fridge tie-down points can still be used to secure gear. We put together a brief overview video, let us know what you think!
