again, after going over everything during the timing chain replacement, i noticed that all the hoses on the intake were like brittle plastic and starting to crack. i ordered the boot for the throttle body but these accessory hoses (yellow) are no longer available. are most people just pulling these off and putting a filter on the resonator by the engine? just replace the hose with heater hose etc? i'm assuming the plastic part thats integrated with the air intake track just pops out? I didn't want to force it, again, fearing it would break everything. thanks

So, do you scrub your engine with a toothbrush? That is a mighty clean engine you have there.

No clue on your question. My truck doesn't have it. I would run generic hose.

I just capped mine off at the air box and where ever the other one goes.

yeah, every time i put a new hose, belt or gasket on i wipe some of the grime off..... before too long i'm going to have the newest old truck out there o_O
interesting on those hoses - had a hard time even finding them on the parts diagrams etc and most of the trucks i see don't have them. i'll figure something out and post back. thanks for the info

i looked at all the options and decided to replace the hose - the most compliant as well as the cheapest ($1.23/foot for 3/4" heater hose). even has the white stripe to line up with the arrows
