I would like to say a HUGE thanks to all that attended the Crawl!!! Wow is all I can say. Huge turn out. Haven't got the final count yet but 70-80 trucks is what we are thinking. We raised over $1200 for the MS charity!

Please post up your thoughts good or bad. We can't fix it if we don't know what it is.

Thanks!

I know the rain kinda threw a wrench into Friday morning, but the only thing that I still haven't figured out was the 8:30 driver's meeting...other than that - an awesome time!

It was definitely much more enjoyable than GSMTR and it was lots of fun to meet some new people. You gotta love the ability to wheel trails right outsde of camp.

A trail rating system would help for those who are new to the park to help figure out what trails they should head towards.

It was a superb event. The rain on Friday was awesome for us on Saturday as there was zero dust (a rarity at GR) and the "hard" trails really were a challenge. The BBQ was awesome and the raffle was off the hook.

Can't wait 'till 2009....

well... maybe I could get drunk as a piss aint next time.

I also froze my shunt off at night with that crappy sleeping bag I had, so maybe have a nice lady to spoon me next year.

Other than that, my only real dissapointment was the dwindling of trails at the park. Every year, it seems to be more difficult to get around. I know CottonLand can't directly impact that kind of thing though but I hope this changes. The mid-level trails are getting harder and there aren't any more being made to compensate.

Had a great time, rain was a drag but it cut the dust out. All in all for me personally it was a better event than GSMTR was this year. Looking forward to it next year.
Big thanks out to the entire "CottonLand Crew" and 's to ya'll.

Oh and Jess, your a tool for leaving the crawl to personally witness that kind of beating.:flipoff2:.

I had a great time!

Thanks to Cottonland for putting on such a great event! Y'all do a top notch job and it gets better each an every year.

Thanks for the A.C.C. boys for getting my truck back running on Friday. It's funny how things just break when you ride from camp to pick up your registration packet and then you can't get back to camp!

Also, thanks for everyone that made the trip. It's always nice to see everyone and meet new friends.

We had a good crowd of DixieLand Boys this year, hopefully more we'll be there next year!

Thanks again guys!

This was my first year as a regular non-BOD member of CLC at the SCC. I never new, untill this year, that it was so much damn fun. Thanks the most to Jeff and to Chris, Jes, Lash and Tony for all your hard work. I had more fun this year at the crawl than I've ever had at the event.

I do agree with Eric on the trails, but I know there's nothing CLC can do about that.

Thanks again. Iw was a freakin blast.

I would like to humbly suggest adding Ferret Legging to the Saturday night raffle and meal. Here's an excerpt from Katz's King of the Ferret Leggers:

Basically, the contest involves the tying of a competitor's trousers at the ankles and the subsequent insertion into those trousers of a couple of peculiarly vicious fur-coated, footlong carnivores called ferrets. The brave contestant's belt is then pulled tight, and he proceeds to stand there in front of the judges as long as he can, while animals with claws like hypodermic needles and teeth like number 16 carpet tacks try their damnedest to get out.

Cheers.

I was at lunch when I got this post and read it on my bberry, I was crying over my sushi! the co-worker with me wanted to hear it, I couldn't even read it, i was crying so hard. By the time i could get the whole thing out we were both crying.
Thank you for making a grown man cry.

What bothers me is the fact that the sport has made a "comeback" in the last 15 years! What???

Great event!!

Registration at the event was painless and very well organized. Got everything off on the right foot.

The bag full of goodies for the driver was one of the better ones I've come across ... lots of 'keepers' in there. Well done.

Raffle had some really nice prizes and was run smoothly.

BBQ food was top notch.

Weather's outta everybody's control ... just had to stay in camp and drink on Friday. :grinpimp:

Only complaint I got is actually with the park. I set 'round the campfire at the pavillion for two nights and both times heard the owner saying he had plenty of money. Seems like he coulda afforded to bought a few gallons of the chemicals for the portapots and added some water. I don't mind the least bit bringing my own toilet paper ... but dry portapots are not sanitary.

Cheers to all the hardwork from the volunteers for puttin' on a top-shelf event.

Reckon me and the lil' jeeper will be back next year.

Oh and Jes, your a tool for leaving the crawl to personally witness that kind of beating.:flipoff2:.

It wasn't any worse than the beating I took by The Ringer while arm wrestling.:o

What's the difference between Neyland Stadium and a porcupine?????

A porcupine keeps his 100,000 pricks on the outside.

LOL...

Thanks for taking me on that parts run Jes.

Broke the first U-joint within minutes, but didn't break another all weekend!

Good times!!

Thanks Jeff and the gang for the invitation to the party and the invitation to cook and bring a little coonass cooking to town. Hope the rice weenies went down ok.

We enjoyed it.

First time there and was a blast (falling on the rock and coughing up a bit of blood kinda sucked...but it beats the hell outta sending my 40 into a tree..aka Gilmer).

Any concern of mine would be outside the CLC's control.

My only complaints are directed toward the park rather than CLC...

As stated before...blue water ought to be in every porto-party:doh:

The access roads could use a little maintainance - you shouldn't need lockers or 37s to navigate an access road! I happen to know where he could get a great deal on some gravel ;)

More trails for the non-rockracin' type vehicles.

The only suggestion I got for CLC is to maybe start the event earlier in the week!

Cottonland-yaull do everything right and top notch for the event. My hats off to yaull. Gray Rock could do a little more, Tony is just too used to having $$$ for all the multiple uses that he gets off the place that I believe he's forgotten about some of the small things he could do to improve the place. I'd like to see some power plugs for RV's-Morris Mountain is a whole lot smaller park than Gray Rock and they have 6 RV power plugs-no water hookups, but they do have a hose and a bath house with 2 showers and 2 toilets. Riverrock has even more RV hookups with power and water and a bath house with showers and toilets.

The porta pot screw up was partly our fault. We should have made sure to put a sign on the ones that were not serviced. He didn't have all of them serviced. The ones that were serviced were done on Thursday morning. I think they only serviced 5 or 6 out of all that were there. Next year we will make sure they do a couple around the rodeo. Sorry about that guys.

On the shower house thing, we have asked for 2 years about that. Even offered up some help building them. He finally said he was thinking about doing it. He could build a bunch of it with the check we wrote him on Sat. night. We'll see and we'll help if he does. I will also press him to flatten out some RV spots. Wouldn't be a big deal with all of his resources. We can't be the only people that have asked for that! We are a small drop in the bucket though. This next weekend he will have 3 or 4 times as many trucks in there.
