Not directed to the CottonLand crew I know this is out of the clubs control but the trail map and trail identification just plain sucked ! Kind of hard to pick a trail to run a few vehicles on and have no idea where you are on the map or just how bad the trail will turn into.

CottonLand crew ya'll had a very smooth registration, check in,and NICE drivers bag for us Thanks. The supper that was provided on a cold night was . I did not walk away with any prizes from the raffle BUT that was one great raffle with all the sets of tires, winches ,on board air, paid registration for other events, etc. I do not know how many different vender's that contributed to the raffle but it was impressive. The hospitality of the CottonLand crew was nothing short of GREAT. Glad to have had the chance to meet y'all again.

I will talk to Tony about the map. I agree with you. Hell, we asked Frank (his helper in the maroon Jeep) how to get to the canyon and he had a hard time telling us with the map! I will e-mail Tony all of the thoughts in a week or so. Thanks guys!

Only complaint I got is actually with the park. I set 'round the campfire at the pavillion for two nights and both times heard the owner saying he had plenty of money.
:flamingo:

those who say they have plenty of money and still need to go to work at 4am ... don't have plenty of money.

I think the easiest way to sum this event up is as follows:
CottonLand Cruisers did an awesome job with an event at a facility that could use some of their direction. Keep after Tony to improve and I think you are going to have to start limiting the number of trucks :grinpimp:

it's been my experience that those who like to talk about how much money they have aren't doing aswell as they claim. but that's not the issue. i had a great time and got to meet alot of new people. i'll definitely be back next year. my one suggestion would be a big map under the pavilion that showed the whole park. there could be printouts of said map for the taking close by aswell. without a map it took me a day of exploring to figure out where everything was. i too would benefit from more intermediate trails. other wise i really enjoyed my time at gray rock and hope to see everyone next year.

The porta pot screw up was partly our fault. We should have made sure to put a sign on the ones that were not serviced. He didn't have all of them serviced. The ones that were serviced were done on Thursday morning. I think they only serviced 5 or 6 out of all that were there. Next year we will make sure they do a couple around the rodeo. Sorry about that guys.

On the shower house thing, we have asked for 2 years about that. Even offered up some help building them. He finally said he was thinking about doing it. He could build a bunch of it with the check we wrote him on Sat. night. We'll see and we'll help if he does. I will also press him to flatten out some RV spots. Wouldn't be a big deal with all of his resources. We can't be the only people that have asked for that! We are a small drop in the bucket though. This next weekend he will have 3 or 4 times as many trucks in there.

Later,

He wouldn't need to flatten out for rv spots, just have somewhere to plug into power so we don't have to run generators the whole time. I'd gladly pay an extra nightly fee for that.

i had a great time. big props to jeff and the crew. also, a huge thanks to clutchee and ash! good to finally meet a lot of you including lash, amanda, denmom, tony, chris, .....and so many more. thanks for making me feel so welcome, i appreciate it!

did a short write-up on the pbb:

just got back from the "SCC" - Pirate4x4.Com Bulletin Board

hopefully i'll see y'all at katemcy next year!

Maps will pretty much always be a problem because the trails change so quickly.

CLC shouldnt have to remind or ask the park owner to put blue water in the s***ters. That's his bad, but thanks Jeff for owning the problem. I know it will be right next year.

Props to Jeff and the Board for asking for feedback and solving the problems. For example: The showers this year were friggen awesome.

Agree with PScott that the stuff out of Cottonland's hands are what they are but in no way reflect the awesome job in preparation and delivery of a great event. From pre-registration, check-in, meals, the raffle and yet another well done and touching charity (Lash, you did a great job) - CLC did great! Keep up the great work.

Hey guys, I just want to say that I had a great time do there with all of you. If you say me and Ben Sunday morning....then you know we had an AWESOME time! It was nice meeting all of you. Thanks to Clutchee and his wife Ashley for feeding us and giving us a place to sleep Sunday night. Gorge (orngefj45?) Very nice meeting you as well. Bodean, You did a very good job, Thank you very much to Tony as weel. Dang, Pretty much if I talked to you, or you talked to me, or saw me, or whatever, Thank you for the hospitality and help with making for a great event.

Jeff

Everyone in our group enjoyed the event VERY much. It was great seeing, and wheeling with, some old faces and meeting some new ones as well. The MS crew put on another great event and I will do everything that I can to keep my, never missing a SCC, streek going. See you all next year in B-Ham (and hopefully at other events in the mean time).

The wheeling was as good a ever but my one main complaint (which has been covered prviously) is the lack of any good maps or a Trail Rating system.

Thanks Again from ACC

There's actually a new ORV park opening up in Cullman soon. Future plans show outfitted RV spots, camping, showers, etc. similar to Crawfords near Tellico.

Gray Rock is a good spot and yes the map sucks. That's why I was lost most of the time. It wouldn't hurt to regrade the perimeter roads. I don't remember the roads being that rutted out in 2007.

Well, Badass. It has taken many a years to be like me. Hope you do not follow my path!! HAHA. Besides, most people refer to me as "Captain Awesome, Fabricator Extraordinaire" Actually, that is "Mr" Captain Awesome to you. As soon as we get a 40 front bumper done, we'll let you know. Same with the FJC front for halfass. You and your group of friends are super cool....teenagers! But hey, I had a great time with you guys and we will be back next year.

I will keep you posted. We have had some discussion about the place on the DixieLand forum. It should be open by the end of the year, but I am not sure which trails, facilities, etc. Might be just ATV for now.

I will keep you posted. Let me know if you make it over and me and some of the boys will meet you up there.
