Has anyone found a way to add bluetooth to the factory stereo? I want to keep the head unit in my 97 but the only thing I want is bluetooth. Prefer to keep my dash as stock as possible and every DIN unit I look at looks out of place to me. Everything has bluetooth in it these days, I figured someone smarter than me has figured out how to add it to the factory unit.

Really don't want to revert back to my youth with this.....

I'm using ^^ currently and it works pretty great! Picked it up at the local VatoZone for like $8. Sound quality is actually pretty good for the s***ty stock stereo. :D

Same here. I wired an aux input into the factory stereo in my 97LX replacing the tape deck, and basically couldn't get rid of ground noise and other problems.

The tape adapter hasn't been removed in about a year.

I used one of these in my Outback. Wired this into the radio wiring on the back and then hooked up a car Bluetooth receiver and it worked fine. The modulator has a switch so that you can turn on and off.

I've never had good luck with the FM transmitters. Maybe because of all the radio stations here, but often as I would drive I would have to change stations on the transmitter and my stereo to get signal from it as it was often being overridden by real FM channels. I don't think you can beat the sound quality of the tape adapter.

I looked around and bite the bullet with Sirius Satellite Radio. I got the basic $13/mon. It work anywhere as long as the antenna can see the sky. Love it so far. No commercial.
