Added another pig to the sty, have a few questions

First, I am not parting this out, so dont ask I picked up a 76 today, Dec 76 to be exact. Pics are below. The roof appears to have been cut off and replaced. It still has rust on the roof corner, but the bottom is pretty darn good except the PS fender which has some small rust coming through. The rear tailgate is solid and rust free. It does have factory AC, power steering and supposedly a rebuilt engine. Most of the glass is there too. It needs a starter. It does have lots of parts, including a new rear window motor and a box full of weather stripping. It does have a large fuel tank in the bank, no idea what that is from or if it is hooked up. It was used as a wheeler in the mud, lots of mud on the underside. It's been painted a brown/rootbeer color, the factory is blue

I have a few questions-
1- I think the later ACs are pretty rare, at least harder to find than the earlier ones. Can anyone confirm?
2- The hubs are ASCOs, are these long-bodied ones? I thought they were on 78+
3- were all later hoods scooped/vented?

The late Factory ACs, like what you have, are harder to find than earlier dealer ads, but not near as tough to source as the early factory ACs.

The hubs are long bodied, as are all on the disc brake 55s.

Every 2F hood I've seen is the same as what you have.

Thanks Chris. I am not as familiar with later pigs since mine is a 72. It is nice to have power steering when I was moving it around

Right, I know 75 on had 2Fs, but I could have swore than someone said/I read that aisin longs were on 78+.

LC- What is "WITF"?
The plan is to get the engine running and then sell it to Chris so his can have a matching frame off BAHAHAHA!! Honestly, I dont need another project, so I will end up selling it- I just couldn't see it going to the scrapper. I think it would make a great wheeler though.

Long body ASCOs went on '9/76+ when 55s got disks, '75+ got the raised hood with the 2F -

What the others said, '76-'78 Pigs w/ disc brakes got the long-bodied ASCO lockouts.
You have the 2F "big-bump" hood.

PS would not be factory for a '76. Can you post pics of the PS pump and how it is mounted?

I stand corrected- I looked and there isnt PS. I must be wrenching a lot cuz that wheel turned easy

did you have it running? Because the PS wouldn't be helping, in fact it would be hurting, the steering effort if it wasn't running.
