Something to note is the LX and LC starting in 16 get leather covered panels, so it wouldn't work well to add those kind of switches there. Unfortunately there aren't a ton of good places to add switches in the LX or 16+ LC.

Ya, true. My spot is probably only applicable up through 2012... Mainly mentioning it as a general comment that’s it’s really not all hard to find spots for small switches.

I’ve also considered the up-facing center panel near the shifter... Lots of possibilities for those of us dealing with the lack of the 16’s centralized switch cluster (would love that). I swear Toyota realized after the fact that they needed all these buttons! ;) They seem almost randomly scattered in the early 200...

That spot is also available on the LX; crossed my mind, too.

It's just 8 wires sticking out the back.
Hit and ground in, 6 leads out. Each lead is capable of .5 amps. Depending on where it gets located and where the relays are, 16 to 18 gage wire should handle the output. Planning on using 12 for the power/ ground .

Someone posted a link to a power distribution block that I'll probably go with for the wiring. I think it was a bussman brand.

OK, that is very helpful, thanks. I wish all the photos would show the wiring harness.

But the instructions (linked above) state each circuit can handle up to 3.5 amps? 21 amps total on the panel?

Has anyone looked into replacing the small tilt out coin tray to the left of the steering wheel on the LX? I've thought about trying to fab something up for that spot but haven't taken the time to measure it and see what is out there to make it fit.

Watch your color code (last two values). C0 I think is black.

I go around and around on this. In the end I keep coming back to bluetooth switches. Great for lights and compressor, where you have an obvious state change; less so for locker. I also got for christmas a 6 or 8 gang spod clone (was $100 on amazon) that will fit in that spot, another member has grafted it in.

Edit: @BigMF

wish there was a way to macgyver my switchpro in that spot

that tilt location is a pain. It’s just curved enough that getting good fitment is difficult and does not really work aesthetically. The tilt mechanism and face plate are one unit so trying to gut it to make room is fruitless.

Ash tray worked for me. Also, get a switch pro, life is MUCH easier. Best $500 wiring decision I made.

Mine is in that "tray" below the ashtray and in front of the shifter :)

Mine's a land cruiser, but I ended up putting my switchpro in the same location.
