ABS wheel speed sensor

I broke one of my wheel speed sensors when I was tearing the axle down. I am planning on getting a new one from a wrecking yard. Can anyone tell me about compatibility? Does it matter if it is from the left or right, front or back? Are all the years that had ABS compatible?

should be the same from 93-97 but not sure about the same left to right. probably same connector but the body of the sensor may be different for the bolt hole to mount to the axle

So I finally got my 80 back together. I couldn't find an ABS sensor in a wrecking yard so I glued the broken sensor back together. I rebuilt the front end and used chomoly birfs and my glued sensor. Now the ABS light is on. Where do I start?

I had the same issue and had to replace the entire speed sensor harness. In my search I ended up with 2 of them so I have an extra one. It is used, if you are interested in it PM me.

I'm interested, but I can't figure out how to PM. Seems like it should be easy, but...

You could just delete the ABS and remove the bulb. That ended up being a great move for a number of reasons.

I want to keep the ABS. Any other suggestions on what to do? Do I really need to replace the whole harness?
