1978HJ45, at the end of a drive i'd say those rear-views would double really nicely as his 'n' her's coat hooks too.
Yet another benefit. :)

Thanks, NM Frontier but it wasn't my idea, i must say. It came from one of my mechanics, who lives not far from the animal feed manufacturer, and has used the same things as mats in his pick-up box and/or trailer as a protectant for the floor(s) when he loads his sleds on. Simple, solid, cheap, easy to cut and fit, nothing wrong with any of that.
One of my mottos: listen to everyone, but do what you want.

Looks good. The rear fender well lip i am assuming is what was drilled out.
I would be POR-15 painting those holes yearly because of rust paranoia.
I need to figure out something for my truck.

Yes, ForealBoreal, the fender well lips are the drilling locations, at all four fender wells. To POR15 them every year is a damn fine idea, thank you. Mind you, POR15 is designed to go directly onto bare steel, and my fenders are painted and gooped with whatever's on them; perhaps simple exterior caulking generously shmeared (that's a lot of smearing, by the way) all over would do too. And i wonder if some sort of spring clip would do the trick, instead of drilling.
On another note, does anyone know how to send pictures on pm's (assuming it's possible)?

There is an "Attach File" icon at the bottom of the p.m.

IOS app no Bueno ....... The only thing I understand about that sentence is the word "no". :)

Elkaholic and 1978HJ45, thanks for the replies.
I do get the 'Attach File' icon when sending messages on Mud (such as this one; as proof, i like to give my Troopie a chance to see sunsets), but not when pm'ing on Mud. I must have the IOS app version, and not the web version. Which i find confusing: isn't all of this happening on the web?
This doofus' guess at 'IOS app no bueno', for 1978HJ45: 'internet operating system application no good'. How's that, Elkaholic?
In any case, i sent the pm partner my e-mail address, and told him i can send pictures that way.

IOS is Apple's operating system for iPhone and iPad ...

If you access the forum through a web browser, images are possible in PMs or Conversations ...

Thanks for putting me right, Elkaholic.
It is extremely rare for me to look at Mud, or anything else, on my smartphone, as i haven't the patience to deal with a small screen or the small keyboard. As well, whatever i want to see or do online can wait until i get to my laptop. In other words, everything i do online, apart from very rare exceptions, is through a web browser. And i haven't yet found how to send pictures on pm's.

Hello Mudders All,
Once again i'm looking for assistance if possible. My car has the H55F gearbox, the factory transfer case lever to the right, and the factory PTO lever to the left.
I have seen aftermarket consoles for this model of car, and they are made in Australia. As tempting as it is to get one, i am extremely conservative when it comes to buying stuff sight unseen, and i don't give a damn what the seller/manufacturer says about how mind-blowingly earth-shattering their product is (yes i've been had before, could you tell?).
So i'm asking: if anyone on board here is familiar with such items, can you provide some feedback on them, are there alternatives out there, etc. please? My fantasy wishes are as follows: an arm-rest, storage space, two cupholders, and solid enough to walk on for when i crawl through to the rear from the front seats or back. I do not wish to punch more holes into the floor; i've five or six existing threaded holes in that area. Ideally i'd make one from scratch myself, but i haven't the space for that, not heated anyway and it's damn cold these days.

If you can entertain the shipping costs from Aus to Can then I'd say have someone make one for you locally. You already know exactly what you want and having something custom fabricated for you can be deeply satisfying.

Hello Ward, thank you for that.
I have heard of Tuffy products for a few years. I looked up the Tuffy site just now, and the 'Tuffy II Security Console' does not show on their site. In any case, as silly as i may sound asking, i must do so: does that console fit '92 Troopies? Landcruisers don't even show on Tuffy's list of vehicles. Your input is appreciated.
77cruiser77, you're absolutely right, and i have had a number of items custom-made previously: the pleasure of that is priceless. But then there is convenience and time to be considered, as well as expense. I am on the fence just now, and i have time to decide.

It is a "universal" console. Measure your available space and compare with dimensions of the console.

Here is a photo of the 6 1/2" Tuffy between the e-brake add passenger seat in my 73.

Ward, thanks for the info; i think i'll hang out for a DIY item, or some such.
On another note, and this is a bit of an oddball but what the hell: as i have replaced the weatherstrip rubbers around each of the four doors of my car, i have the old ones. They are worn of course, less than ideal, but better than a kick up the bum if one has nothing else. If anyone wants my old weatherstrips (for a Troopie, for course, i've no idea if they fit other 70's models), they are yours for the asking and the cost of shipping.
