That's exactly what I thought @tomsryd , lol. About 2 minutes after I wrote that, I figured he probably meant a hunting dog.

On the flip side check out the 275/70/18 just installed on my cousins LX

Not necessarily the brands you are looking at but I can post for both sizes just for comparison sake... Got Cooper ST Maxx LT275/70/18 tires now, had Falken AT3W LT275/65/18 tires which were great tires (for the two weeks I had them before I swapped) but looked too small...

The tiny difference in sidewall makes a huge difference!
Did the Cooper ST Maxx 275/70/18 fit the spare location?

Quite honestly not sure, still have a stock-size spare under there.

I

I want to do 275/70 but Costco won't install them, and I want them to install them for the benefits and convenience they offer. Any opinions on going 275/65 that Costco is willing to install?

I had 275/65/18 before I switched to 275/70/18 and could not tell much difference looks wise, however making the switch to the bigger tire went from an LT to an E load range which I noticed a big difference in breaking power and it also stressed my power steering and it started to leak. Plus gas mileage took a hit.

I take it you would recommend 275-65 then. right?

My experience is not the same. No probs on my 06 lx470 after 12k miles and moderate 4wheeling

If you're mostly wheeling then go with the bigger tires. I got my KO2's at discount tire and they installed them with the same size spare no problem. I think they will match Costcos price, plus dt is much faster when you need to rotate your tires.

This will be mostly driven by my wife and then I get to take it hunting/camping about 4-5 times a year. if I decided to go 275-70 I'd go with Discount Tire, but I think I am going to do 65 instead, and will just go with Costco to get their perks that Discount Tire can't match.

Post some pics of the 65’s and a report if you have them. I’m having the same issue deciding. Would like to see the payoff

@mallard75 just get the 275 70 18 and move on....
