Thx - Things I would do different, in case it helps:
Buy a complete bolt kit - running back and fourth piecemeal cost more and wasted time and effort.
Don't resist and put off the carb job - pinheads youtube make it easy and made a big difference for running
Run a ground from the front to lights in back - hours of frustration removed with a single wire
Aftermarket door seals don't work well on the rear
oh, and as of last week, if the tank looks bad, it probably is...

Pulled radiator yesterday. Broke the weld at the bottom of the radiator in the process. I'm going to take the radiator to a local shop for repair and for them to boil radiator.

From the looks of it - you're looking at a re-core most likely .

No , the amount of scars and tracks from slow leaks is what I see - hard to tell from the photo . The shop should know if it can be cleaned or needs re-cored . Have 2 shops here locally that almost always over-boil them and want to sell you a new one...grrr .

Dropped the radiator off to have some repairs done and get to it boiled. Spent some time removing pieces that need cleaned up before they get installed on new frame.

Soooooo... Received word on the radiator this morning. The radiator shop has said in needs a new core because everything is plugged. $390 for a new core. Booooooo...

Get with one of the Cruiser vendors - new is better , and sometimes cheaper . If nothing else , @beno is our go-to guy for stock parts and an endless resource....great prices . From the looks of that sad/poor rig , I'd say he's going to be a great friend...

Major progress today...
Hoping to get the pile of scrap to the scrap yard tomorrow and get the axles to the new frame on Wednesday. Body was in absolute horrible shape. It was held together by sheet metal and a few screws. Body mounts were rusted through. I can't believe I drove it like that.

New radiators are ~$250 or less - don't fix your old one for more money! You're taking on an ambitious project in the heart of the rust belt - good for you!

You're doing alot of work on your beast.....not sure you acknowledged what antfj was saying.....good luck!!

make sure your state won't hate you for having a different VIN on the frame.. would be a shame to do all that work and then them not register it

I do have the title and vin for frame. I spoke with the local authorities and getting it registered shouldn't be a problem.

More progress, engine is ready to be moved. Heading out of town for the weekend. Should be able to get things moved over in a week or two, then the fun will begin! Can't wait!
