Finally, here's a pic of mine. After trying to track down a color that would match the top of the dash with no success; Mike

I had a thread regarding color matching plastic parts. I found that in order to paint plastic parts they have to be properly primed. I used a primer made by a company called Zinsser found in one of the local paint specialty stores.
As for the color matching of the top of the dash I think I found a color that closely matches the factory color, after some trial and error. The paint is made by Dupli-Color. I bought it from Canadian Tire but I'm sure most auto parts places sell it. Anyways the color is Nissan Charcoal Pearl, stock # C88470360.
Good luck to all that are painting their pods - they look cool!!

I'm guessing this order is done? Looks great, I've been searching for something like this.

The order is not done till orange gets his items.. he donated the A pillar for forming the gauge pod..

here is my finally installed - planning on getting a scrap of the hard rubber trim on the inside of the door to run along the top of the pillar. Need to turn the oil gauge just a bit.

Yea, mine were tight as well. Once I got them started they went in, but yes tight. The problem I had was the studs on the back of the gauges for mounting with their brackets hits the back of the pod.
Basically they wouldn't slid in quite all the way, but it looks fine.

Well, my gauges are installed and working well.

At first I didn't like the look of the piller pod but after I tried mounting the gauges on the dash, the piller pod was looking alot better, and I really like it now!

I'll have to paint it some time to match my sagging headliner or my dash board.

A few years ago, I had a super nice 1st generation Dodge CTD. Well, I looked and looked and just could not accept the quality or fit of the A-pillar gage pods. And, I felt like they obstructed the view, too much. I was adding tach, EGT, boost and tranny temp gages. I wound up making my own overhead pod. And, I loved it!!

All the wiring and tubing ran up through the A-pillar and across over the windshield. It was mounted to the headliner and really worked out great!!

The pod was laid up in fiberglass from the original pattern that you see in the first picture. And, then I covered it in headliner material. Overall, it was a great project, and really turned out the way that I wanted it. I owned the truck for about 3 years and never had any problems with any of the gages or the pod. They were great!!

It would be awesome if we could get someone to make one like this for the cruiser. If I did another one, I might make it flat on the front (angled toward the driver) instead of stepped. It might turn out cleaner.

Enjoy,
Dan

Considering that everyone that was supposed to get a pillar pod has not yet. I would look at other options.

How many pods do you want Randy? I have a universal 2 pod on my 60 that fits very well..
Cost $27.00

Do you happen to have a link to the one you purchased?
Thanks.

not really, I got mine at pep boys.. I had to trim it a bit. But it looks good now

Thx. I'll stop by and see what they have to offer. Trimming seems a lot easier than a group buy. :)
